No to Mike James, his stats look awful, and he would never get on the court over Payne or Goodwin, or even Saben Lee who it looks like they are keeping as well

That is clearly not a correct statement or the Suns would not have been able to beat Denver twice.

The Suns didn't even have a legitimate 5th starter. Booker and Durant carried the Suns.

Think about game 6 against the Nuggets in the playoffs.

By game 6 KD and Book were exhausted, banged up and probably pissed Ayton had bailed on them. With Beal they won't need to play 45 minutes a night, and quite frankly by game 6 they would be playing to close out the Nuggets if they had Beal for the whole series IMO.

You do realize all we need is one fairly decent 3 point shooter to add to our top 4 and it will be practically unstoppable offensively? I can't believe so few people can see that.

Denver really played mostly 7 guys. We will have 7 guys.

Are we hanging a banner because we beat Denver twice? Some people need to let that go. Doesn't matter if we were swept or forced a game 7, we still got sent home. Two wins in the second round is nothing to hang your hat on.

We were talking about last season. I think the top paragraph makes my point.

Suns are said to be looking at Mike James and Yuta Watanabe formerly of the Nets.

Watanabe isn't a very good producer. He was getting about 15 minutes a night and producing only about 5 points per game. By the end of the season they basically pulled him out of the rotation. Mike James was similar in that he was basically getting 18 minutes a night and getting you about 7 points. Neither guy is exciting but beggars can't be choosers.

I'm hoping some of the Suns undrafted free agents get a chance at a roster spot or a two-way contract.

Mike James is garbage. He doesn't even earn the description of hot garbage because he sucks so much. He also has an attitude problem. No thanks.

I forgot he existed and I'm disappointed that I'm reminded of him. Really don't want him back here. I'd sooner see what the Mike James from the early 2000's is up to despite being 48 now.

Dallas practically did it the year they beat us. That's all Dallas fans hung their hat on, that they beat us. Eddie Johnson jokes every once in a while about that banner being hung in their stadium. LOL.

You don’t think those numbers would be good off the bench?

I have read he's a plus defender, and can hit the three. Plus he's younger than most of the vet min guys. Might have potential as a long term guy?

I'm glad to hear confirmed, every NBA team will have (3) two-way roster spots. Some writers were still saying (2).

Let's get some good players that can develop in those spots.

The only thing I don't like about two way contracts, is they can't play in the playoffs. I would have liked to see Sabin Lee be able to get on the court, if only to get experience for the first time in an NBA playoff situation. If you are going to let teams have these contracts, they need to let the teams play these guys if needed or wanted.

I could have solved the Saban Lee dilemma. :)

As I recall, Mike James not only stunk when he was here, but he also acted like something of an assclown when he was released. Didn't he make some kind of public fuss on Twitter about how unfairly he had been treated here at the time? I seem to recall him burning bridges, which was comical because he was very marginal at best to be on an NBA roster.

Not really. Those are more like spot player stuff than solid rotation players. 15 to 20 minute to produce 5-7 points is not great. Then again maybe they were not getting consistent playing time because of others on the bench.

Bates-Diop has better points per game. They are almost identical in size.

My whole point is we were already close, and I think the same bench and Beal is already enough to put us over the top.

Right when I get my hopes up about having the TP MLE, they're quashed. ESPN has another article up and it says we will NOT have the TP MLE. So I give up.

Just think of it like this.
1. PHX can only sign minimum deals and re-sign their own FA's to above minimum deals (except Okogie, no Bird's Rights)
2. Only a DA trade can net them players, a salary dump doesn't open up cap space to sign FA's and does not open up MLE or BAE.
