Let me ask you this,.. would take a risk of adding a little bit of cancer to your body because there’s a massive outside chance there may be some benefit?

There’s no such thing as a little cancer on a team. Especially a cancer as big as Kyrie.

I would only point out that no one on the Suns is in a better position to say how much of a cancer or problem Kyrie is for a team than KD and if the Suns are showing interest in Kyrie I would imagine KD is signing off on it.

That being said I am very skeptical about the idea that he would even sign for the minimum and I would imagine it would have to be some sort of trade involving Ayton to do it. It feels almost pointless if that is the price of getting him.

Yeah, Unless it's a three team deal and we get a center in return that's decent, no way.

Sure, but quite a bit of the drama was surrounding Covid which isn't really a topic anymore. Injuries were the other issue, but considering the injury history of the big 3 we currently have it would be hard to turn down the idea of adding some insurance that we won't skip a beat when any combination of one or two are out. But again, it doesn't mean much of anything if we aren't talking about him signing for the minimum anyways.

Yeah… kinda ignoring the third issue with the Nets… flaming bigotry that sidelined him and sent the team sideways.

And in Boston, I.T was deciding to just go AWOL for stretches of time… for no reason.

Point is, whether it’s Covid, injuries or bigotry, there’s always SOMETHING that makes him impossible to depend on, even when there’s literally NOTHING to make him disappear like when he was on the Celtics.

Bobby Marks just said on ESPN when asked about the Suns and Kyrie, the ONLY way for him to sign with us is for vet min, in his case around $3 million. Marks ruled out sign and trade because it puts us over the second apron. So that clears up a lot.

If he will sign for the minimum, you have to do it.

Except he wouldn’t be jettisoned immediately. KD is his boy. Isiah believes he’s been wronged. They would fight for him and would string the pain out long enough to throw a monkey wrench into the entire season.

I think it’s naive to believe if he was just a little bit of an issue, the team could just wipe their hands clean, easy peasy.

I don't think there is a chance in Hades that Kyrie actually ends up signing here for the minimum. But I have to give the Suns credit for publicly entertaining the idea. I think it is rather brilliant from the perspective that it sends the message the ownership is all in on just about any move to improve the team, no matter how outlandish it might be.

Something like this, coupled with the Durant and Beal trades, is going to go a long way towards rehabbing the franchise's old image throughout the league as being cheap and carelessly run with respect to winning. That could pay big dividends in the future with trying to attract talent here.
