Is he? He's averaging 22.6 ppg, 9.4 apg, and 8.1 rpg in 35 minutes a game. He's not an All-NBA talent anymore but at 40 years old in less than a month, that's pretty damn good. He's got another year left as a starter on a playoff team, provided the Lakers can get him some help.

Cooked LeBron isn’t the same as cooked Kobe or Dirk where they look unplayable. He’ll always find a way to post box score stats but he legit doesn’t play defense and the Lakers have been better with him on the bench.

I didn't see the game, but back-to-back games in Utah and Minnesota can do that to a player. AD didn't play that well either.
Plus, one game doesn't determine one's fate. He's still in incredible shape and putting up numbers. He'll retire on his terms.

Yes, a soon-to-be 40-year-old Lebron James could help a lot of teams get over the top.

He is currently averaging 22 points, 8 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game.

He’s cooked sadly.

I feel for the Pelicans. He was a no brainer as the #1 pick and I was really high on Ja at the time. Zion had otherworldly potential though. It was no stretch to say he was as close to prime Barkley as we'd scene since Chuck was an MVP in Phoenix. Zion was more explosive, somehow, and was accustomed to the modern game. It wasn't the game that broke him physically though it's been his complete disregard for discipline and maintaining his health. He needed to drop some weight and play around 260-270, which is Lebron's reported weight, but Zion is almost always hovering the 300 mark his body can't sustain the weight and mileage.

It'll be interesting to see how his saga plays out because New Orleans has an out on his extension next season. They have until July 15, 2025 to cut him loose and not be on the hook for his salary. There are some smaller guarantees he could hit, if he can keep things under control. Seems the prospect of even getting 20% of the $39 million he's on the books for, as of now, will require he hits weight continually. For more than that it would require his return ASAP.

  • 20% of 2025-26 salary becomes guaranteed if passes all six of his weigh-in checkpoints during the 2024-25 season
  • 40% of 2025-26 salary becomes guaranteed if plays >= 41 games during 2024-25 season, additional 20% if plays >= 51 games, remaining 20% if plays >= 61 games.
    • Salaries for 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons can be re-guaranteed if above metrics are hit the season prior

Yeah, I put him in the Hall of Fame during halftime of his first game in college. I really thought he was the most can't miss player I'd seen since Shaq. Such a waste.

5 straight losses for Warriors, in at least 3 of the 5 they had a double digit lead in the 3rd or 4th quarter.

Without Steph they are just not very good. After a scorching start Buddy Hield has come down to earth and that means there's just not enough firepower off the bench.

There are a lot of teams underachieving this season. I think they will get it going. Curry still has a lot left in the tank.

Also, I expect the Warriors to be active in the trade market.

Not sure they have the assets to be active in the trade market unless they move to start tanking, which they are unlikely to be willing to do while Curry is still playing at this level.

They could’ve had Markannen but the Warriors are pretty conservative regarding trades. They didn’t take advantage of those down years where they blew picks on Wiseman, Kuminga and Moody. Look at some of the names that got picked right after them.

Lakers getting blasted again:
.
xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

It was around the 3rd quarter when I saw a narrative gain steam that the LA teams could combine for a 100 point loss last night. Lakers ended up losing by 41 on their own and the Clippers were beat by 28. 69 total points between them is still quite a feat.

Worth noting the Clippers "won" their 4th quarter against the Wolves by 8, 30-22, but also Antman had a terrible game for Minnesota. Edwards shot 5-14 from the field for 16 points. He was 4-9 from 3, which is what kept him from being completely atrocious. No one on the Wolves scored over 20 points, Randle had 20 on the dot. The Clips had 3 guys score in double figures and Harden wasn't one of them. Harden went 1-10 with 5 points on the night.
