No, I was including rosters. I just think if you're examining value you also have to factor in upside-down contracts, of which we have several. And thanks to the new CBA rules, I'm not sure we can trade our way out of those upside down contracts without including picks (that we don't have).

We're supposedly trying to win a title and we have 21 wins. Brooklyn is actively tanking and they have 14 wins. YMMV but all told, I would much rather have Brooklyn's roster and salary commitments than ours.
I think on an individual basis only Beal and nurkic are upside down contracts. You’d get positive return trading KD, contract and all. Same with book. Probably get minor value for tyus bc one year contract. Probably get value for oneal. And also Allen.

We aren’t right now. We are an above .500 team. We will be. In part that’s what he’s arguing. I don’t love where we are right now, but that’s because I’m championship or bust. But we are better than we were for many of the sarver years. Most of us can’t recognize that because we stew on the bleak future. But right now we are squarely average. The nets are not.

They're a single game above 500 and still fall outside of the playoffs and play-in. We won't even receive the lottery pick that missing the playoffs usually entails. We may improve or the wheels might fall off again. There's no guarantee. At least Brooklyn receives some compensation for being bad this year. They even get compensation for us being bad.

The Suns being closer to 500 is supposed to mean what, we hand over the 12th pick instead of 11th? The goals are different for Brooklyn and Phoenix. Neither team will win a championship this year. Brooklyn's path to competing for a title has fewer speed bumps than the Suns.

In any potential trade between the Cavaliers and Nets involving Cam Johnson, Jaylon Tyson would likely have to be included.Due to Cleveland’s lack of premium draft assets, the inclusion of their recent first-round pick could make their offer more competitive compared to others.
