.
If Kyrie was Kobe’s size he’d be top-10
all time.

I don't know if you're old enough but the handle and the finish at the bucket is like Rod Strickland, but then he's a much better shooter. 42 I think tonight and then with the game on the line he suckers Butler into a charge to seal it.

As Kerr said when they asked him what the plan was to slow down Kyrie, I've been trying to figure that out for about 10 years now

Mad??! They basically gave up him and AD for Luka.

Thats like buying a brand new GTR for half the price and mad because you have to throw in your reliable daily driver 2009 Honda Fit into the deal.

Rich people problems..

Apparently nobody thinks they had to throw him in to get Luka. He's had 15 or more points in I think 7 straight games, not bad for a rookie

Mac McClung has won the NBA Dunk Contest three consecutive years.

Good for him, especially if other top NBA players aren't interested in competing.

He had an actual program like the dunk contests of old. Guys used to plan out their dunk routines and showmanship was thought out. McClung, you could tell he had his show preplanned. The second place guy was great, too. The other two guys were a hot mess.

Here’s the thing:LeBron’s ankle soreness and foot injury isn’t new. If he wasn’t going to play in the All-Star Game, he should’ve let the league know because there are plenty of players who would’ve gone to SF to play. Not to mention all the fans that went to see him.

Literally any other player does that and they'd be destroyed on ESPN, NBA TV, and sports talk radio but LeBron will get a pass from the bigger national analysts.

The All-Star game has produced a lot of stinkers over the last decade or so, bad formats, little effort but none of it compared to that disaster.

That was a train wreck. The play to the production, that might be the worst broadcast in NBA history.

The guy has carried the NBA too long for him to care about the charade of an all star weekend. The writing was on the wall. The league doesn’t care, the players don’t care and from the reviews of the Kevin Hart show, the fans don’t care. Just name the All Star teams nd forget the weekend entirely. The only ones who cares are the sponsors. If you wanna watch a bunch of commercials go for it. The one getting a pass is Silver for this crap product.

This was the first time I can remember not watching at least one All-Star event.

As exciting as the NBA can be, how can this be?

I'd try to get some FIBA teams to spice up the event.

People will watch because the new thing is interesting.

The in season cup was interesting, the first time.

This is the first time I actually watched pieces here and there of anything all star in maybe a decade, because it is new, new interested me. For a little bit, not enough to watch and entire game between any of the 4 teams.

But the product is still the product. And the product still stinks.

The tribute to the Inside the NBA guys was also bizarrely right in the middle of one of the games... they just paused the action for like 10 minutes while the score was a thrilling 10-1.

The league asks the players to take the game more seriously, then their production of the game is a clown show, where the game came across as an afterthought.

There are a lot of reasons why the all-star game sucks but I think the biggest problem is greed. Players make too much to care, real fans are priced out and replaced by celebrities and rich people just there to peacock. I don't blame the players for wanting their fair shake of the league's earnings... they make too much money because the league prices out real fans from games, they price out much of the audience by making the games harder and harder to access on TV without paying 3 different subscription services, and the salary explosion has caused a lack of roster continuity and that in turn has severely deluded the rivalries and bad blood that used to permeate the league up until the mid 2000s.

I'm surprised you didn't watch any of it. I watched more than I have in years. The Rising Star event/mini tournament was cool. I hope they keep that. 1 G-League team, 1 World team, 1 Rookie, 1 Sophomore team with the winning team being showcased on Sunday. The youngsters care still. Had they hyped up that Friday tournament for the last few years then I could have understood the dramatic shift on Sunday but they haven't so it all seemed like throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks.

I can live with the tournament on Sunday also if it made more sense. I didn't care for how they picked the teams plus how short the games were. Target score is cool in theory but I think they would have been better served by doing two 10 minute halfs with a target after that. Sort of a sudden death where the leading team's score +10 or something. So it's it's 51-44 after the clock is done then whoever hits 61 first wins. A strong run allows either team to take it.

Another way I think they could bring excitement and competitiveness back is make All-Star's put their game check on the line. Winner gets the pot and loser played for free. We'd see guys trying then, IMO. Players can choose to sit out of the game, of course, but if they forfeit a spot then it doesn't count towards their contract so if they need that All-Star accolade for a super max or an incentive then they need to actually play for it.

The All-Star events wouldn't have to stink. Basketball is a great product.

Let's get some foreign competition to spice it up, along with appropriate money for the winner and a trophy.

Also, perhaps the WNBA could coordinate their events with the NBA.

I'm needing for the Suns to give me a shot of adrenaline, a reason to get excited about the NBA and this season.

Chris Paul cheating in this exhibition and nary a word lol. It’s always LeBron’s fault somehow.
KD has the right idea when he says name the All Stars and cancel the weekend because everyone is miserable anyway.
