Do people really care about this? The odds you will have the player on your team for his whole career is like 1%.

Players don't hit their prime till like 25. I really don't get why anyone cares.

It's sad how much age is a factor. Even if a player is a few years from their prime, the scouts think there's little room for development. They would rather get the next Giannis who spends years barely playing but with huge upside than someone ready to contribute right away.

There's almost always role players to be had later in the draft for this reason. Some teams do draft to fill specific needs, like Boston, and it works well but you need a couple of good young stars in place to pass on some of the potential that's available.

How does a guy like this go undrafted?

40% 3pt shooter on good volume, good size, decent athlete

He must really suck on defense or something. - Actually his defensive rating doesn't look that bad.

Looks like a steal for a 2 way.

They were saying he wanted to go to the suns only, and by remaining undrafted that's how it was possible to come here.

This is how we got Mikal and Cam Johnson.

Yeah, that's how Austin Reaves ended up with the Lakers. He wanted to go there.

ANy of that could be true. I'd just like to know which. More out of curiosity than anything.
It would be interesting to know which.

It seems to be a smart thing to manipulate your way to the situation where you actually have a chance to succeed rather than be buried on a team that just had to burn a second rounder and will sit you in the bench.
