Would the fact that Marquise Brown isn’t very good shift your perspective? Really hard to pay a guy $24 million a year who gets 8 targets and ends up with 4 receptions for 24 yards.

We don’t have to decide right now, thankfully. I expected he’d be so productive and have so little competition from his teammates that we’d force-feed him like we did late-model Fitz. He just doesn’t have any outstanding traits.
He has had horrendous quarterback play, I also doubt he winds up with a contract at 24/year. What is your suggestion for filling all these holes then?

Not one. Paying that guy for potential… that he’s NEVER reached for FIVE years is the height of stupidity.

I look at the Eagles. They have a Kyler type Qb. They have a big wr in Brown. They have a second wr in Smith. The have speed at rb. They have a decent TE. Finally they have a very good o- line.
We need a big Wr that can win the 50/50 ballls.
Can Wilson and or Brown be the second Wr?
We have no speed at rb. A speedy back plus Connor would be more than adequate.
We have a decent TE especially if all the other pieces were in place.
We need to move PJ to left tackle, add a RT and a guard.
Can Kyler be Hurts?

Before we get good we have to move off pathetic. Get good at least on one side. This offense can be fixed quickly and we can still add to the defense. Maybe not as much as we’d like to but at least to some degree.

Kyler is the key.

lol it would take 2-3 VERY GOOD drafts just to match Philly in terms of talent.

The Vikes didn’t seem to have horrendous QB play on the road at ATL today.

I’m pretty sure that Greg Dortch could have had 4 receptions for 24 yards on 8 targets today, and he costs nothing next year.

Im happy we don’t have to make the decision right now. But paying Hollywood Brown a top 8 WR contract so that we can draft a wideout in the top 5 next May feels like an awful plan after today’s game.

The point is we could fix this offense THIS offseason with the draft and free agency. It would at least make us competitive.
We won’t be able to fix everything in one offseason.

You compared us to the Eagles man. If we want the offense to be fixed like that then that’s gonna take more than just this upcoming offseason.

You could fix the offense but we have a truly terrible defense. Teams are getting up two scores and treating the next two and a half quarters as a preseason game.

BJ Ojulari is nothing. All our IDL are free agents. We might have one NFL caliber corner. It’s pretty bleak on that side of the ball.

Also, James Conner is good for MAYBE eight games a year.

Not sure why you’re so focused on a first start from a 5th rounder who threw for under 60 yards.

We will need to overpay players through free agency AND have a high hit percentage in the draft to work towards being competitive. Giving a contract to brown that is a slight overpay is something I’m fine with so we can have one less need to be filled through the draft.

I’m all for finding FAs that outperform their contracts, I just don’t see those players coming to Arizona with how poorly regarded the organization so combined with how bad we are talent wise. It’s a really tough position to operate from.

I’m comparing the weapons the Eagles have that make them good only because I watched them today.
We have the draft picks and should have some money to spend to be competitive on offense.

You mentioned Hollywood’s QB play. Hollywood has been unremarkable all season while getting a truly wild amount of touches.

Again, I’m not Never Hollywood right now. I want to see him with Kyler. But we may be so far away that Hollywood doesn’t even have an impact on the next Cardinals team that finishes with 9 or more wins.

The Never Hollywood argument is if you find an Adam Thielen-type WR for half the cost of what Hollywood would get you can take that cap money and upgrade LG from what we have to someone who can be our third-best OL and upgrade our IDL with someone of the quality Jordan Phillips has been with Buffalo instead of Jonathan Ledbetter.

It is a parity league. If Kyler can't get them to 500, he needs to go. In the end, this is all self inflicted. I don't care about the excuses.
I fully understand why you are so adamant on staying in purgatory with a post like this.

Worst nightmare is being what the Chargers are & what the Bills look like they’re heading to as well.

Needing heroic QB play just to stay competitive because the supporting cast around you leans more on the negative side than the positive side.

To hell with sh…crap.

Lol… you keep talking about us “staying in purgatory.” Uh… we weren’t in purgatory last year. We were in hell. That’s where you are as the 3rd pick in the draft. That’s where you’re supposed to start rebuilding. We took a gap year, so we chose to remain in hell and because of that, it will be even harder to get out of hell because no one in their right mind wants to play in hell.

Yup. We had the third pick in the draft and are going to end up with a slightly above-average right tackle and the 20th pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

Ojulari is a bum
Garrett Williams is ok I guess?
Michael Wilson can’t earn targets
Kei’trel Clark was a healthy scratch
Clayton Tune is horrendous

I mean, how great do we feel about the 2024 draft?

I’m getting seriously concerned that one offseason may not be enough to make this team competitive. Just using my fingers I believe I could count the number of NFL-level players on this roster! No game review this week.
After last offseason, we pretty much knew it would be at least 2 more years.

…….It’s the first year being under the new regime guy. Yea, you’re going to be in hell at first during a rebuild under a new regime. That’s what rebuilding is. I’m happy Monti acknowledged this instead of continuing to kick the can down the road by signing over-the-hill vets thinking we’re in “win-now” mode like Keim did until the car completely ran out of gas his last year here.

I’m not sure if you were one of them, but I remember @kerouac9 made fun of anyone who think we should be following what the current Detroit Lions are now. Looking at the Lions, I guess that wouldn’t be a bad idea now huh?

Is that what we’re doing?

What do we have in common with the Lions besides a commitment to losing?
