There is absolutely no reason why the team couldn't do this, unless the player doesn't want to sign. The Cards have a ton of cap space, very little cap invested in the WR room, and a glaring need. Fill out the OL and some D positions in FA, sign Higgins, and go D heavy in the draft.

That said, it will never happen. Makes too much sense. Monti would poo his pants in anxiety just at the idea.
If you know it, and I know it, Monti knows it. If it doesn’t happen it’s all on Mikey’s back.

Both are pretty much backups & both got injured. Perfect example of being a Cardinals fan lol. If we lose to the 49ers sunday, will that move us from 14 up to 11? Right now 49ers #11 & Cardinals #14 in the draft order.
I could see a scenario where the niners take the guy we want…lol….ahh … no matter I would be happy with pierce…Jakob walker… scourton…Williams or grant… we will get one of em…. I live in Paducah Kentucky by the way

This team needs a burner (Dortch is more quick than fast), and they are usually out there in the draft later, but you have to find the guy who catches better than the other guys with speed who were just good enough at catching not to be a CB. Michael Wilson reminds me of JT Smith and serves as that possession guy in my opinion. BTW, Zay Jones when not serving as a 'PI decoy" made one pretty toes tap catch on the sidelines last game.
Precisely correct that the late burner guys typically have hands issue.

You want to pay Higgins $28-$30M per year...a guy who averages about 1k yards per year in a throwing offense?

MHJ is already as good as him.

Spend that kind of money on a difference maker.
:biglaugh: Excuse me, I thought... :biglaugh: I thought you said... :biglaugh: I thought you said Charmin Marvin is already as good as Higgins :biglaugh:

I know it sounds crazy @Stout

Here are Higgins career stats.

I think MHJ had a disappointing season but he is still basically Tee Higgins from a production standpoint with Joe Burrows.

I also think MHJ will have a much higher ceiling.

We need a guy more like Nabers.

Tee Higgins is also second fiddle at the WR position. You can argue MHJ is second fiddle to McBride, but he is our "best" WR. Don't get me wrong--I still like Marv Jr--I just think he would be better if bolstered by a bona fide NFL WR next to him.

At Guard - a couple of interesting names:

James Daniels (Pitt) - tore is achilles in week 4 but has been one of the better Guards in the NFL.

Mekhi Becton (Philly) - reminds me of Leonard Davis. Struggled at OT and then flourished at G for Cowboys.

Cardinals are not signing Higgins. Nor should they. If the Cards get a WR, it should be a slot WR. Harrison and Wilson are going to be the outside guys.
I also don't get the so-called need for a speed WR. Harrison is one of the fastest guys in the league. Just because Kyler can't throw a deep ball, don't take that as a lack of speed from Harrison.
I think a quick in space twitchy WR is a bigger need. A bigger, better version of Dortch.
