The 2025 NFL draft is just around the corner, and the Chicago Bears are primed to land another top contributor with their 10th overall selection.
This offseason, Chicago shored up the offensive and defensive lines with some key acquisitions, which gives general manager Ryan Poles and his team some freedom when it comes to their draft board. Instead of drafting for need, it sounds like it could very well be best available come No. 10.
Even though the Bears addressed the offensive line in a huge way in free agency, that shouldn't stop them from continuing to add pieces to what was the team's biggest weakness last year. In a new mock draft from CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, Chicago does just that with the selection of Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. at 10th overall.
The Bears dedicated significant resources to overhaul the offensive line this offseason, which included trading draft capital for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson and making Drew Dalman the second-highest paid center in the NFL.
With the interior offensive line overhauled, Chicago could use their first-round pick to upgrade at left tackle. While Braxton Jones has been serviceable in the past three seasons, he's entering the final year of his contract and isn't necessarily the long-term answer. If the Bears could land their left tackle of the future in Banks with that 10th overall pick, it would be another win for new head coach Ben Johnson.

They upgraded their offensive line in free agency, but will continue to do so here by taking Banks to challenge Braxton Jones at left tackle. They could also consider taking a defensive edge or inside player here. But the push to fix the line will win out.
