As the countdown to heading down Magnolia Lane continues, Golfweek is taking a look back at some Masters history through the years.

Today, it's time to examine the 2001 Masters and the significant milestones that occurred at Augusta National Golf Club that year.

Who won the 2001 Masters?​


Tiger Woods captured his second Masters title, winning by two shots. More importantly, it was the fourth consecutive major title for Woods, completing the Tiger Slam. He finished at 16 under for the week, which at time time was the third-best, 72-hole score in Masters history. Phil Mickelson and David Duval also torched Augusta National that week, which foreshadowed major changes coming to the course.
