Since the Cards have a good shot at picking top 8, the 2nd round choice could be premium value. I nominate Giovanni Bernard N Car RB. Top rated RB in this draft class. Dump Beanie Wells if possible and deal with the opinion that Ryan Williams can't stay off the IR.

Who was the last good Italian RB, Franco Harris?

Pass. Too many holes at other positions which will also have value in the second round. I would rather grab Chris Ivory in FA than use a second rounder on a RB.

Why burn another high pick on a RB when it's been proven over and over and over again that you can get productive runners in the middle and late rounds? The problem with the running game isn't the talent of our backs; it's their ability to stay healthy and (even more) the garbage interior offensive linemen that we've expected to block for them.

Don't tell Shane or the other haters, but this running game has been pretty stagnant since Deuce Lutui was sent to the bench. That's probably a coincidence, though.

Use our first-rounder on a QB, our second rounder on a guard, and watch this offense take off in late 2013.

Correlation not causation.

JJ Arrington and Ryan Williams as second rounders did not work in the past, we do it again?

If we draft a RB in the 2nd round, I will shoot my TV. Okay, so I want to be able to watch my TV, so I'll fly out and shoot Rod Graves's TV :D

Correct. It was a mistake to take a RB and a TE in the second and third rounds 2 years ago.

but they were BPA (even though people were surprised we took them that high... kinda flying in the face that they were BPA).

Agree, also lots of free agent RBs available in 2013 to go along with Wells, and Williams (i.e. Reggie Bush, Mendenhall, Ivory, Shaun Greene, Felix Jones, Hillis, Woodhead). Gotta get a qb and improve the OL in the draft.

Seriousy bad and expensive, Am I one of the few who think Wells and Williams will not have long and productive careers? Both had injury issues when drafted and nothing seems to have changed. Giovanni is the highest rated back in the draft and could easily be there in RD 2. Powell/Wells/Howling do not make my toes tingle. But , what do I know.

The Cardinals need to plan going into next season like they do not have a RB. Still, I would not go RB until at least after the second round, probably after the third round.

Yeah for me it is QB then OG or OG then QB. My dream is to somehow land both Chance Warmack/Jonathan Cooper AND Tyler Wilson.

I agree that the second round is where we go RB. Yes, again. We failed with Williams, Beanie is breaking down, he will give us a couple good years but I like him as the backup and short yardage.

I am all for drafting Montee Ball in the second round. This kid has all the tools needed to be our guy. Free agency is not where we go for RB this off-season. There is nobody worth going after. I know the argument is that we could find a RB in the later rounds and that one of the best in the NFL right now is an undrafted player in Arian Foster BUT he is one in a million. Most top RB's are drafted. I believe in Montee Ball and if you watched some of his recent games, this kid has heart. He is durable and can carry a team on his back.

Ryan Williams was clearly a mis-step (and I said it at the time), but Rob Housler?

I'm the biggest Rob Housler critic there was, but at this point I'm perfectly happy with what we got in him. Justin Houston has been good, DeMarco Murray only slightly more productive than Williams (this is a clear exaggeration--the Cards could've drafted ANY OTHER RB BESIDES RYAN WILLIAMS that year and gotten more), Martez Wilson isn't starting for the terrible 'Aints D, OG John Moffitt has been an injury case.

Man, that 2011 draft was pretty deep. Too bad we blew a pick on Ryan Williams Because He Never Fumbled Once In College*.

* Ryan Williams fumbled in college.

No,no,no,no!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many times do I have to tell you guys NO 2nd round running backs. Ryan Williams still may break the jinx but EVERY 2nd round RB the Cards have EVER drafted has been a major or minor bust.

That can't be said about any other position.

My favorite backs are Mike Gillislee fro Florida and, if he comes out, Eddie Lacy from Bama. Neither are worthy of hig second roud draft picks. The earliest I'd look at RB is round 3 and, more likely, round 4.
