Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports was on the radio yesteday --

his take, FWIW: Tennessee isn't a "real" option. Archie played with Munchak, the new Titans coach, and Cole believes that Peyton is simply doing Munchak a favor by meeting with the Titans so he doesnt get in trouble with Bud Adams. BTW: Cole described Adams as "loony".

Sounds about right. I think Tennessee is on the outside looking in.

It is just boring for me to say that I want this to end so we can talk about something else, like re-signing Marshall, getting Calais a new contract, and bringing in free agent offensive linemen.

;)

I get that I am totally gullible by the whole situation... and for the record, in my heart, I just do not see Peyton signing here with everything that has gone down, this after being 95% sure :)D thanks Vic) that he would be signing here back on Sunday...

But I think Gambo does have a source, and I think it may be someone affiliated with Tom Condon... Just my opinion...

Lets hope he is right, we have until Saturday so even stretching this until Friday it ok..

I get that Manning wants to meet with everyone before making a decision but I just keep thinking it is for diplomacy rather than anything else...

For Miami, because he lives there and they want him zoo bad that it would be very offensive if he did not even listen to them, and Tenneessee where he does not want to do anything to create bad blood, so when Bud Adams comes out and says I want you, the least he could do is go through the motions and meet with them, so he could at least say he gave them a chance..

I still think it ultimately comes down to AZ or Den, I hope to hell and choose to believe the Cards are still the favorite, but in my heart I think Denver will end up with him..

I think Manning's already made up his mind. The Ten talks, in my opinion, are because he played in Ten in college and also wants to be respectful to Bud Adams, who is one of the dudes who made this league what it is (helped found the AFL back in the day), that whole family did, and I just kind of think that's the kind of guy Peyton is. The Miami visit was nothing: he made them come to him. He didn't go visit. Even the Denver visit may have been out of respect or general curiosity (this is, admittedly, my own biased opinion). He and his dad have a lot of ties to Elway.

I agree it's between AZ and Den, at least in my opinion. But I think he's coming here. I really think the seeds for this were planted years ago by Whis and Fitz and co. I think it was masterful whether he comes here or not. Whis deserves way more respect than he gets and everyone but us seems to give it to him.

Hopefully Woody Paige has great sources because he's the only person in Denver who doesn't think he's Peyton is going there.

How funny is that? Down to two teams and one of them he hasn't even talked to yet!

Everyone is grasping at straws. Peyton isnt talking to anyone - and especially anyone who is going to leak his info. I just wish people would admit they have no clue and quite tyring to be the first to "scoop"....Logic dictates that if we werent thr front runners yesterday we certainly should be today after Wayne siogned with the Colts.

I mean how can Tennessee be in the Top 2? He hasnt even spoken with them yet, as thats scheduled for today.

Now more then ever with this whole Peyton I think these analysts at ESPN and the like have these meetings to strategize to keep fanbases involved and excited and drive traffic to their links and twitter pages. No one can disprove "rumors" so whats the worst case scenario for these outlets?

There isnt one. Guess well find out soon enough.

All I heard this morning on the national radio shows was Denver or TN, with AZ and Miami being in the second tier.

He hasn't even met with TN yet, that's what cracks me up.

Based on Polian's statement? Riiiiight.

Schein and Gannon were on NFL Radio saying AZ, TEN, and DEN were the top three with AZ and DEN at the top of the pack.

I thought they also said that no one knows what Manning is thinking and anyone telling you so is full of hot air. All we know for sure is where/who he has visited.

I'll take Schein's opinion over most national guys. TEN may be intriguing, but he has yet to meet with the coaches and their psychopath owner, so how they could be favorites is baseless.

I still believe AZ and DEN are top dogs.

Yep. They said that right before they gave their own take on the situation. They gave opinions and told listeners to trust no one, based on their sources..

I've been trying to think of why they still hate us so much. I think I figured it out, well sort of. There's always going to be more reasons it appears they hate us...but I was thinking of why specifically.

Then I thought, oh yeah, I don't think we're on MNF this year. Which would mean after a MNF year without Manning, they are looking at ANOTHER season they don't have Manning.

You'd think Fox would be playing the other end, since Manning in the desert means Manning games on Fox twice a week almost every week.

If Manning signs I believe the flex schedule will need to be used with us to get us on a primetime game, and that's another hassle.

Plus ESPN would have to redo their 'best FA signings in history' spot and have us #1.

They'd have to talk about us constantly, and they don't want to. Since most didn't pay attention to us, they'll have to actually learn our roster and stuff, and they're lazy.

While it wouldn't be any different than Denver, being on the West coast will force some of them to watch a second game after their east coast games are mostly over. But not as big a deal as other sports or college football.

They know if Manning comes here, Arizona will become a destination like the Suns used to be. The spillover effect might last a decade beyond whatever Manning might play here.

Overall there are many reasons ESPN doesn't want Manning here, and probably number one they don't want to give up the kickstand usually known as the Arizona Cardinals amongst the media. They've gotten away with barely covering us since 1979, and they'll have to find another team to go to break on during the Draft.

So basically in summation; kickstand, research, laziness, and MNF is the reason.

Of course they could choose not to be lazy, or hate on a franchise, or put the coin in to redo 'fa signings', or they could be fairer about the MNF schedule by placing the Cards on there...but no...they want the world as they perceive it, and would rather have Manning not be on the cards.

It's not a conspiracy, since this is a nothing issue. But to them and their idiots, it doesn't make much business sense to ESPN for Manning to be here, so they are doing everything in their power to insert their corporate interests and craft the future they want. Screw 'em. They're idiots. Make them look like the fools they are Peyton.

I could definitely see ESPN doing this. After all, this is the network that tried to bury rape allegations against Big Ben and refused to pursue allegations of dog fighting against Vick. They have a history of trying to spin stories to protect their NFL deal.

That beings aid, the MNF schedule has not been released, and won't but until April, so this can't be a factor yet.

Uh oh, I don't watch Law & Order...does that mean anything. :D

Also....didn't know they hadn't announced MNF yet. But without Peyton, our chances were slim. With Peyton they HAVE to give us one.
