This is the best I've felt in a long long time being a Cardinals fan.

People are coming up to me 'nice game by the Cardinals!', 'you got to be happy', 'great win', etc.

3-2 and not lucky wins...this team is a good.

Go Cardinals!!!

Its irrelevant Shane. Just as moral victories are irrelevant.

All that matters is W vs L

Are you serious? Yesterday was pretty damned lucky.

That's the main reason I'm so happy. The Cardinals actually got lucky and won a game. On the road no less. Its like we're in some Cardinal Bizarro World where the things that always beat us are now allowing us to win.

No argument. But to say "no lucky wins" is completely wrong. Yesterday was the epitome of a lucky win.

But yes a win is a win is a win.

I would say that Baltimore getting the officials to give them the game was pretty lucky as well as Pendy giving SF the game w/ the prevent.

I really dont understand why this was a lucky win. Rams incompetence? definitely. But luck? Lets review.

The ball getting kicked by a Dlineman at the end of the half. Um that totally happened. It might have been by accident but the Rams Dlineman CLEARLY kicked the ball not allowing us to spike (and ironically had that worked i think we wold have gone with the FG). Then it was just brass balls by Wiz and execution.

The Reggie Wells TD? This is whats killing me about this play. Yes I agree there is no way it should have been called the way it was. That was patently ridiculous as it should have been a touch back the minute St Louis recovered IF they thought it was a fumble. Bt it wasn't. It was APPARENTLY clear that Edge's elbow was on the floor as well as his knee and then ten minutes later the ball came out. Just ridiculous all the way around but the correct call should have been Edge down at the 1 - 3rd and goal. and even then I like our chances.

The Int's were not luck. The TD was just a TERRIBLE throw by frerotte and Hood and Wilson made good plays on the others.

Luck was our starting QB getting knocked out of the game? I dont think so. No one else seems to be as worried as me but I am terrified of Kurt playing the whole game. Matt makes a bonheaded throw from time to time but Warner is a turnover machine. Hopefully i am wrong but I was much happier with the steady presence of Matt complimeted by the 2 minute offense from Warner. I think we need Matt back more than anyone realizes.

Hey, we should have won the 9er game. And you can make a strong case that we should have won the Raven game as well. We should have lost the Rams game as we were outplayed in most phases of the game...

All I know is that in years past, we would have lost the Rams game for sure... Somehow, we won the game when we played our worst game of the season. Tells me that this team is different from seasons past...

Now, what I want to know and will find out this Sunday is:

- Has Pace now started his annual hybernation period?
- Was our inability to control the defensive line just a one game lapse, or the beginning of more trouble ahead?
- Our the injuries to our o-line the beginning of more trouble?
- Are teams finally figuring out that the best way to beat us is the play long ball and expose our CB's?

Where were Smith, Berry, Watson and Hayes yesterday?

Anway - I too and quite excited about our record. However, if we lose to the Panthers, winning on the road against a very good Washington Redskin team becomes all the more critical, and all the more difficult... If this team is truly different, we should win this game this Sunday, coming off a tough road win and now playing at home against a banged up Panther team.

Sadly I think they already know that. Fortunately we've played 2 teams that aren't that great at throwing the ball and one missing their starting QB and one of their top 2 receivers.

I don't think the Punthers throw the ball all that well either (25 ranking) so hopefully we'll be ok this Sunday.

As for luck in the Rams game...we had them beat in time of possesion(30+ to 29), total yardage(383 to 375) & turnover margin (+1) and were even on 3rd down conversions (both at 38%).

The Rams made the score closer than it should on a late drive that the Cards seemed to be more concerned about making sure it took as much time as possible rather than stopping them.

Go Cardinals!!!

To go along with this I have seen some commercials the past two weeks where the Cards are making some good plays. Previously ever and I mean ever football related tv commercial showed some star from another team as he ran over the cards or beat them on a catch. There must have been 10 commercials out there for various products using the Cards as a backdrop for some other team beating up on us. Now for the first time one where we beat up on some one.

Statistically we were close in most categories. We made the interceptions and scored. The Wilson interception was really a great play. He goes high in the air to tip the ball up and then catches it and makes a nice run back. The other one our DB caught a bad throw and went all the way. Bad throws are not luck. It comes from pressure and other things happening on the field. We were the better team the way I saw it.

Absolutely.

:koolaid:

We have beat some good teams in Pittsburg and Seattle. We need to get some of our guys healthy if we are to continue down this path. Clearly our coaches are much superior to what we have been familiar with. I doubt we will be able to keep Russ Grimm very long as he will be looked at by some teams as their next head coach. You just have to know our receivers are happy with Warner throwing the ball. He throws long, short, or in the middle what ever is required. Boldin must be very anxious to get back in the saddle. I fear for James as I wonder just how much of a pounding he is taking. He rarely runs that he does not take a big hit and then keeps on churnning. If he should go down what do we do? Who are our reserves at the RB position?

Are you serious? Yesterday was pretty damned lucky.

PLEASE, explain.

What was soooo lucky about it ?

The fact we are down to our 4th string tackle and still was able to move the ball ?

The fact our starting QB was knocked out in the 1st quarter and our backup came in and did a great job ?

Was it the fact Edge was down by contact at the 1 yard line (we would have score anyway), or if you want to say he fumbled that Reggie Wells recovered the ball in the endzone anyway ?

Was it the fact that Bartell for the Rams intentionally kicked the ball with 3 seconds to go in the half ? (BTW, that is not luck that is cashing in on a stupid play by a Rams player)

Was it the phenominal play by Adrian Wilson for an INT ?

Or Rod Hood playing the right defense and being in position to pick Ferotte's pass for an INT ?

I see a game that our team gutted out, even through injury after injury, even after a slow start by both the offense and defense.

We BEAT the Rams. The were defeated by the Cardinals fair and square.

This "The Cardinals are lucky" line that is going around is complete B.S..

If the Cardinals are SOOOO lucky were the *$#@!$#* has this luck been for 20 years ? Cause I haven't seen it.

This team is playing great football, and the fact no one is giving them their due is an absolute joke.

After having to be on the other side of this comment I will say, "Maybe it is not that the Cardinals were lucky against the Rams (Seahawks, too) or maybe it is that fact that the Rams are just not a good team, and the Cardinals took advantage of thier oppourtunities."

Luck my big fat fanny.
