New Orleans- will be coming off a short week

ST. L - should be able to win at home

ATL - should be able to win at home

3 wins and we might get in.

I'll have a very happy off-season if the team goes 9-7.

If we end up 9-7 with: 1. the injuries 2. 1st year HC 3. "legacy of losing" I'd be ecstatic. I think we're likely looking at 8-8, though. And, you know what? I'm okay with that. I think that's pretty good, all things considered. It's not going to be good enough for me next year, though.

:stupid:

Also, even if we went 9 & 7, I really don't think we'd get in as the Vikes will at minimum be 9 & 7 as well and they own the tiebreaker...

we need to win out and the vikes need to drop 2 out of 3, or we can win 2 out of 3 and they lose out.....i think the first option is much better for us and more attinable.

I'd be ecstatic with 9-7. For no other reason than we'd finally have another winning season.

If the Cards, Vikes, and Giants all end up with a 9-7 record does anyone know who gets in?

The Giants and Vikings would each have a better conference record than the Cardinals, so they'd get in. The Cardinals would need the Lions to keep pace and finish 9-7 to knock out the Vikings in the North division, and then the Cardinals would get in based on their head-to-head win. But if the Redskins were to get into the mix at 9-7 also, they'd knock the Cardinals out even in this scenario.

That is not correct. If we go 9-7 and the Vikings lose to either Chicago or Washington then their conference record will be 6-6 and so will ours! We are at 3-6 now but if we win 3 straight all against the NFC ours will be 6-6! Don't know after that.

Indeed... as i mentioned previously in another thread, in that scenario (Cardinals & Vikings both 9-7, Vikings having lost an NFC game, both teams with 6-6 NFC records), the teams' records against common opponents would be considered next. To update what i wrote earlier (when 10-6 was a possibility)...

Then common games would be considered. Versus Atlanta, Detroit, San Francisco, and Washington, the Vikings would be at worst 3-2, while the Cardinals would be 2-3, so the Vikings would still get in ahead of the Cardinals.

change the #'s so the Cardinals get in...I like it better like this

If the Cardinals win at least one game they are in the Super Bowl and will be spotted 60 points to start the game.

Vegas, baby, yeah!

I don't know if we can win all three. NO is a pass wacky team, and our secondary is iffy at best (NO is averaging 263 pass yds / game 4th in the NFL, and we're giving up 226 pass yds / game - 24th in the NFL). My best guess is that we'll lose this one, being on the road.

STL we should win, though they are getting healthier. I think it will go down to the 4th quarter, with Jackson leading the charge, but we hold on to win.

ATL - With Petrino resigning, I have no idea. My initial opinion is that a coach leaving mid-season never helps, always hurts, so we should win this one as well.

That puts us at 8-8, which was beyond my expectations at the beginning at the season (I was thinking 6-10). Progress - yes, but a long way to go.

My Kool Aid binge lasts forever...Minnesota has to play Chicago, Redskins, and Denver. Losing 2 out of 3 here is no long shot.

Brees and a backup running back spells trouble for the Cardinals, I would be stoked if the Cards just didn't have a losing season at 8-8 but YES, I would love to win the next three and see if that would be enough for post season play

If we don't go to the playoffs, who cares

I care.
I care that we are playoff alive in week 15.
I care that the players care enough to try to play while injured.
I care that the coaching staff looks pretty good right now.

Finishing 6-10 would be disappointing.
Finishing 7-9 would be encouraging, the best in a long time and good for a first year coach here.
Finishing 8-8 would be excellent.
Finishing 9-7 would be outstanding.

I feel compeled to respond. Beat San Franscisco and we have a legit shot at the playoffs. The coaching staff in large part have cost this team 3 games do to clock mismanagement and lousy playcalling. This is a squad that has the talent to be 11-5. An 8-8 season would just be ok knowing we should have had much more. Injuries finally took there toll last week against a better division team as the team got blown out. I still say the jury is out on this coaching staff and on whether the Team has packed it in for the season. If they win out then we have possibly turned a corner...go 1-3 and it is the same old Cards...from where I am sitting. And that means no Playoffs again.

I think alot of us fans are wondering the same thing. Some tough losses this year would be forgotten if we won out.

The Saints are horrible IMO because of where they where last year. The Cards should play well, and Warner plays well in a dome!
