Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Miami Dolphins have traded WR Ted Ginn Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers. It is not known what the Dolphins received in the trade.

I think that it is a good pickup for the 49ers.

Agreed, for the right money and trade I'd have taken him for returns and 3rd or 4th WR.

He was picked too high but he still has value.

Ginn was basically a glorified Breaston coming out of college. Luckily for us we have DRC to neutralize his amazing speed and we finally have a pretty good ST unit.

If we put DRC on Ginn and not Crabtree that would be a colossal mistake. Ginn is a terrible WR.

How does a guy go from the #8 overall pick in the draft to a "traded for a 5th round pick"? Hardly anyone in South Florida can forget Cam Cameron validating the pick by telling the media, " we didn't just draft Ted Ginn, Jr., we drafted his entire family". Wonder if the 49ers got the whole family also?

BTW, don't even cover the guy. He'll drop it anyway. :D

Good, Ginn sucks and is good for many drops of easy passes and may net them possibly two KR TD's this season and for a highly inflated contract... Ginn sucks

He will not be a threat as a wide out unless he gets in the open field.

Still he is a good kick returner. I'm not going to begin to mitigate his impact in that aspect of the game.

I think many of you are looking at this wrong. This was a 5th round pick for a really good kick returner. I think that is fair value for sure. Anyone who thinks the 49ers did this for his receiving skills is crazy.

News is that the 49ers will draft Dez Bryant if he's there at #17. They already brought him in for a visit. I would rather draft CJ spiller though.

It will be hard to throw to him with Alex Smith at QB, especially when he is on his back.

Dez Bryant or C.J. Spiller? Why would they draft Spiller when they drafted Knowshon Moreno last year?

Because Denver always drafts offensive linemen and running backs in R1?

They had the luxury to give up a 5th rounder. They have all of their picks plus an extra 1st and an extra 6th. So giving up a 5th and still have 8 draft picks total was an easy gamble for them to make IMO.
