I for one hopes he signs with SF and starts then all this silly talk will come to an end. He will either be successful and make the Cardinals eat crow or he will wash out and never be heard from again.

I hope the 49ers don't pick up Leinart. I would hate to see him kick our butts twice a year for the next ten years. Releasing him is still the dumbest thing Whiz has done to date. We had our QBOTF and we just let him go for no reason what so ever. I will be pissed at that for years. Were the 49ers stupid enough to release Joe Montana or Steve Young just as they were getting started. No, they developed them. The way Whiz handled the QB situation this past season was mind boggling.

Granted Whiz didn't bring in a QB that could run his offense after drop kicking the Leenart, but I wouldn't mind him in Frisco.

in 2009, we put Leinart in games late in blowouts. In the first, against the Jaguars, Kurt Warner was warming up at the end because Captain Checkdown almost threw the game away. In the second (I can't remember against who) we actually did pull him late in the 4th and put Warner back in to close out the game.

To my eyes, Leinart shows no dedication to the pro game and seems happy to have gotten 5 years of NFL paychecks. He's Jay Cutler without Jay's talent. I'd love SF to get him and start him, and I'd play all my LBs short against him. Go aggressive against the underneath routes because that's probably where he's going with the ball.

yep

I'm the only idiot in Arizona that still thinks Matt is an elite Franchise QB prospect. He is by far the best pure passer college QB in decades. He attended 4 NCAA Championship games one as a back up and 2 wins and a close loss to VY at Texas. that was on the defense, Cause Matty did his job.

Same in AZ under Denny He had one of the best rookie record breaking seasons I'v seen. Bradford had a full schedule and confidence and gets all these accolades. You compare Matty's rookie season with a 405 yard record game, his consistant 200+ yard performances and 100+ QB ratings. 2500 yards in 11 games projects to over 4000 in 16.

Then along came Whiz and Matt turns to dirt. Even with the earned start in 2007, Kw was brang in with the package. Kurt earned everything he got but If you think Matt Leinart isn't still better than every other QB in the NFCW, watch and learn.

It isn't like we need a QB or anything, DUH DUH DUH DUH! I'm still so pissed off I can't see straight, I'm trying to turn the other cheeek, but it hurts all up in there. Kubiak Sent alot of praise to matty and said he wanted to keep him, But they have a Matt that is a top 10 QB, We stupidly cut a top 10 QB for DA, Hall and Skelton.

What the hells going on out there! And many fools agreed with Whiz, UIn Whis we Bust!

Unlike the 2010 Cardinals QBs whose second completion of the game came midway through the 3rd quarter.

It would be too Cardinal for Matt to go to SF and then beat the Cards twice every year.

I wonder how Coach genius (Whiz) would feel about that..............

I wish DeWreck Anderson and Max Hall had been on the bench somewhere like Sacramento or Ely Nevada instead of starting games in Arizona. Cards might have actually won more than 5 games and maybe not lost 41-7, 41-10 and 38-7 and finished 31st in passing offense and 32nd in rushing offense.

Agreed.

But, in my opinion, if Leinart started this year, we would still be looking for a QB right now.

And the scariest thing. Max Hall could still be a unknown on the practice squad at this point , and considered a "viable option"

At least we crossed Hall's and D.A.'s names off the list of possibilities.

With all sincerity, I don't think it is a crazy, or stupid opinion to have. If Leinart all of a sudden has success, I would be surprised, but as you said the guy has had success as a college QB, and decent as a NFL QB.

It is not a crazy situation. But, I do get a little defensive when people (not saying you are saying this in this post, or recently) say that we would have made the playoffs with Leinart, or would be more succesful, and say it as fact.

We will never know.

That is a good one.

You really have to wonder what happened to the guy who threw for 365 yards at 9+ yards per attempt against a Texas team that had FIVE future NFL players in the secondary, Michael Huff, Michael Griffin, Cedric Griffin, Aaron Ross and Tarrel Brown, three of them first round picks.

The more I read about Leinart the more I buy in to what someone said on here a while back that Matt just never was the same after breaking his collarbone.

But, it would still be in keeping with long standing Cardinal tradition for Leinart to go to SF and beat the Cards twice a year for 4-5 seasons.

I don't think its going to happen but I can safely say my all time low point as a Cardinal fan would be if Leinart/Harbaugh won a Super Bowl while we piddled with another 5 win season. I probably wouldn't even watch that SB, if that improbably happened.

One thing I think is that Leinart actually could be a very good WCO QB IMHO. He's not a vertical passing game guy like we want here for Wiz's system. And to be frank I don't think Leinart is good enough to revamp the system we have in place, no matter how much success he might go on to have.

They say coaches should be adapatable to their talent but I don't think Wiz should change whats worked for him for so many years for Matt Leinart. No way no how. So in the end the right decision was made.

Wouldn't surprise if he is successful in a scheme more befitting his talents though.

We'll find out in a couple of months. The conventional wisdom is that the NFL is a QB starved league. Watching Todd Collins play for the Bears supports that. If Leinart doesn't get an offer from some team to be a starter or at least have a real shot at being a starter in competition with another QB we'll know ML has burned out his NFL candle. (ShaneH reference intended) :D

Whether or not Leinart is going to be successful in the NFL will be all about his attitude, not his abilities. He has the capability, what remains to be determined is if he has the proper mental attitude to succeed on the field. He just may be satisfied with the millions he has already received and will continue to receive for a few more years, by simply by being mediocre. Or does he have the will and drive to be an on-field success? Time will tell.

hmmm

would that be the long ball bombs, to BJ, Q or Fitz that Leinert Executed to perfection for Denny Green that Whiz don't want in his vertical passing game? Just wondering? I have them on tape if you missed them?

Whats really pathetic is there is not one Matt Leinart Arizona Cardinal Highlight film on youtube? there is a bounty of U-S-C as the animated the Smel Youtube video says, you know the cute chick that says:

I am not intimidated, I won't be bullied, and I won't be laid a hand on!
(for the Ddog)

regardless of all that, one poster said how would we know? just like Whiz said when asked if he made a mistake when cutting Leinart, after we stunk up the worse division in the history of earth. thats a firable response right there. stupid Head coach personell decision. We owed Matt 2.5 Mill for this year, to find out?

But this team was broken across the board, every unit, both sides of the ball were terrible in everything but return TD's. Remeber Levi's? how about Breaston recovering THT's fumble? yea return tD's for the offense is not so well coached usually!

Whiz is over his head, He needs a football man at GM, to pull his bridal when he out thinks himself, Thats what I think. Marty S, or Prcells would be nice, but Mike lombardi would be able.
