Iupati and Bowman looked like they both have severe injuries. Maybe severe enough to keep them off the field for a large chunk of next season with them happening so late in the year.

Add into the fact that Gore, Boldin and Dante Whitner could likely be gone.

Apparently they have to try and sign Kaepernick and Crabtree this off season eating up a ton of space.

That all could add up to a large step backward next year JMO!

I don't like to wish injury on anyone, but I hope that we'll get a leg up on them next year. Seattle looks primed for a good run of dominance, unfortunately.

These injuries aren't career threatening like they used to be. What's annoying is 49ers making the playoffs every season yet still having multiple 2nd/3rd round picks every damn year.

Never said career ending but could definitely affect next year and if bad enough it could affect Bowman long term IE not as quick as before etc... Although I wouldn't like to see that happen.

Wilson needs to be paid, Sherman needs to be paid, and Bobby Wagner needs to be paid.

And they have a lot of high priced players on the roster, and if they when the Super Bowl teams will be looking to pick off their roster.

Wilson and Sherman are not going to come cheap.

If the Seahawks are stupid enough to even flinch about re-signing Wilson, then I hope the Cardinals pull a 49'ers move, and try to trade for him.

I don't think it's debatable. 32 of 32 teams would take Luck over Wilson. Wilson has really struggled down the stretch and didn't really do anything impressive on Sunday. The one long TD pass was a free play and really very fortunate to be complete. He's still more of threat running than passing.

I would take Wilson on the Cards but he wouldn't be my first choice. He probably wouldn't be in my top 5-7 choices either, but I'm more of a fan of QB's that can beat you from the pocket and I'm not sold, at all, on Wilson as a pocket passer.

Wilsons stats fell considerably the second half of the season.. If he struggles to throw for even 200 yards consistently next season, you still think he gets a bank busting deal?

The guy has one of best defenses and RB's behind him, if his first year was a fluke (and I don't think it was) and his next season and a half shows game manager type performance.. By all means, I hope they grossly over-pay for him.

I'd take Russell Wilson over the well-hyped RGIII. He seems a lot more level-headed than RGIII who seems at times like a prima-donna. But it is all immaterial, because neither will be available anytime soon.

That's more of a testament to the entire Seattle team. Other than the playoff game last year, I have yet to see Wilson win a game on his own. He's in a perfect situation with a great defense, a top notch run game, and an incredible home field advantage.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't consider a guy who is averaging about 150 yards per game in this year's playoffs a dominant QB. Even including his 385 yard game in last year's playoffs, which is clearly an aberration, he still is only averaging 222 ypg throwing the ball.

I also don't consider a guy a dominant QB that has only thrown for over 300 yards TWICE in 32 regular season starts. And, has only thrown for over 200 yards in half of his 32 starts. He's an efficient product of good team who's legs are his best weapon.

2. He doesn't call the plays. Game announcers said Seattle & SF were the only two teams that ran more than threw in 2013 season. They are physical teams that like to run the ball down your throat, especially once they grab the lead.
3. He's very conservative and seems to have 'Alex Smith disease', where he refuses to take chances in small windows.
4. He is playing in the Super Bowl. Tom Brady isn't. Drew Brees isn't. Aaron Rodgers isn't. Joe Flacco isn't. Cam Newton isn't.
5. He doesn't have to be a 'dominant quarterback.' He has to be what he is coached to be, an above average quarterback who doesn't lose games.

First off, why would I try to justify my own pre-draft ranking? Who cares about that(in fact, I don't even know what it was)? I loved Tyler Wilson but he has proven to be nothing. I guess I should be making posts that everyone else is wrong and Wilson should be starting.

As for the bolded part, it's funny that the last quarter of the season was his least effective. Which, shows that his legs and ability to escape are his best attributes. When he's confined to the pocket, he struggles, much like Kaepernick. If you notice Seattle didn't blitz Kaep at all and tried to keep him in the pocket. Sure, he got out and beat them with his legs a few times, but he didn't beat them from the pocket. Teams are starting to do that with Wilson too.

Your point #5 is exactly what I said. He's not a dominant QB. You're right, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, et al, all are not in the SB, but they are all better QB's than Wilson too.


Both you guys are helping to prove my point that he is the product of being placed in an ideal situation. They are a team that runs the ball and relies on defense.
