for Jamison according to ESPNews. They said it might be to add to their package for Shaq.

Well that will screw up our mock draft

They were reportedly interested in Pavel, but what they have to trade at the high to get him? I saw Dick Van Arsdale on NBA insiders on on NBA TV earlier today. He indicated that there is a decent chance the Phoenix Suns will move their pack. He also said that they are probably going to take a point guard unless somebody slides to them.

Geez. I thought we were going to get a break in action. :)

We all wanted an exciting off-season, but this is just too much.

Wow! Jamison has a pretty intimidating contract, but I think he's quite a good player. That's a heck of a pickup for the #5 in a weak draft.

I had been thinking that Jamison would be included in an offer for O'Neal. How will they make the salaries add up now? I doubt that the Lakers want Walker or Finley, and presumably Dallas wants to keep Nash for an O'Neal acquisition to make any sense.

Packaging Walker and Nowitzki is actually more compelling, probably, for L.A. That gives them cap space after this season to go for someone to really fill out their roster.

If they do use the #5 pick to trade for Shaq, I can see the Lakers going in a lot of directions. A point guard like Ben Gordon would make a lot of sense for them, though.

Technically if they trade their pick to Orlando in the McGrady deal they have "moved" their pick. It's a Clintonesque way of semantics. Van Arsdale must have purchased Bill's new book "My Lie".

Not much. Nowitzki and Bryant are already close to $30 million, so if they have any supporting cast at all under contract -- George and Cook are already another $6 million -- they won't be far under the cap even after Walker leaves.

Huh? In what way is that misleading? "Moved" means traded.

Washington was the wildcard, I was not sure who and why they would want any of the projected top players in the draft. And maybe the Nellies have more interest in Pavel than Shaq, since they have that supposed inside info an all Euros. Cuban was quite a bit subdued the other day with his quote that he MAY inquire about Shaq.

i'll be shocked if pavel goes 5. he seems to be falling like a lead brick.

that said, this is really interesting, but doesn't really help us (imo). it would only help if one of the teams like atlanta, or the clips traded out from in front of us allowing either ben or livingston to drop to us. that's what i want to happen, but it ain't gonna happen.

perhaps i'll be disappointed like i was back when we selected nash instead of john wallace or marion instead of maggette, or just missed out on wilcox ending up with amare. i like being disappointed those ways . . .

That's true, but I think he was just playing it cool. He has to be wetting his pants at the thought of getting O'Neal. (I was going to make a different suggestion about what might be going on with his male organ, but I don't want to incur the wrath of Joe Mama. :p )

I am sorry the quote was actually "will move" . I pulled a Lewinski, had something in my mouth.

Of course, Cuban hates Shaq, but hey, it's a business, right?

He does? I've read in a couple of places that they get along pretty well. I'm sure he hates his team going up against O'Neal, but who doesn't?

I can tell that you're anti-Clinton (news flash: he's been out of office nearly four years), but other than that I don't have a clue what you're trying to say.

Don't feel too bad. The Suns scouting staff has been notorious for pimping one player to bring his stock up and then picking someone else (ie Jared Jefferies and Amare).

They don't just fool fans, they fool other front offices

Dallas must be taking some awful contracts in return...

Washington has cap space, so it could be only Stackhouse, I think. (What's the current cap?)

It is just semantics, not specifics. With Van Arsdale saying that they will move the pick he does not say that they are out of the T-Mac deal. There are other rumors of trading down if the T-Mac deal does not go down. So either way he is moving the pick but which way.

Yeah Clinton is out of office but can we please get him off the news and out of our bookstores.

I don't understand why anyone would assume that.
