Fresh eyes is fresh eyes- BA said he needed to see what current Cards QB's are salvagable - and who is "hit out"

Hoyer should be in the mix in an Arians offense.

I mean Whiz seemed to think the next in line was the answer at QB- while never developing confidence or continuity needed as an NFL QB. The 1/4 back is part of the back field unit- not the WR unit- or any other unit as displayed by the run option success.

It doesn't happen without starter practice snaps or playing time with your team mates.

I'm convinced that you are Brick Tamland from Anchorman.

You can understand anything he says? He has been on the board for awhile now and I still dont have a clue what he is saying 90% of the time..

What is so damned hard to understand?

Hoyer needs to be evaluated as a Cardinals QB- is on our roster.
He played at New England
A QB is part of the back field unit -
A QB needs to develop confidence with his team mates.
Bruce Arians said he has to evaluate which current Cardinal QB', he could save - after they were screwed up by Ken Whisenhunt-

See Dick run. Watch Spot pee. Help Jane cheer.

So is Anthony Sherman our 4/4 back?

You mean you guys can't understand that thesmel thinks Leinart is the greatest QB prospect out of college since Peyton Manning or Levi is a great LT, thinks Beanie is a 2000 yard back & Wiz was the dumbest coach in NFL history? :D

Thesmels a loyal good fan, I'm just glad he has nothing to do with the decision making on Hardy Dr.

yep

it do at that- Sherman is the full back- Beanie is the 1/2 back- my point is that The backfield is a unit - like oline is a unit - and the recievers are a unit- TE's are a hrbrid of either the oline unit or the recieving unit.

The Niners, seattle, redskins and Ravens backfields play as a unit. Ours has not- Peyton Manning got the most out of Edge and Faulk as members of his unit. He gets it.

Our new ST coach gets it- talking about how a DB pass returner natural skill is to back pedal - while a RB natural skill is to move forward after recieving a kick- fundementally sound -

Our oline went backwards 66% or more of the time to pass protect while going forward to run block only 33% of the time- It makes our offense basically defensive a large majority of the time.

As the term "quarterback" gained acceptance in the 1930s, it originally referred to the player's position relative to other members of the offensive backfield. Before the emergence of the T-formation in the 1940s, all members of the offensive backfield were legitimate threats to run or pass the ball, and most teams used four offensive backs on every play: a quarterback, two halfbacks, and a fullback. The quarterback began each play a quarter of the way back, the halfbacks began each play side by side and halfway back, and the fullback began each play the farthest back. Now that most offensive formations have only one or two running backs, the original designations do not mean as much, as the fullback is now usually a lead blocker (technically a halfback), while the halfback or tailback (called such because he stands at the "tail" of the I) lines up behind the fullback.

So is Anthony Sherman our 4/4 back?

Yo Mods - The oversized graphic from Ccolorwerx (2 or 3 posts earlier) is screwing up the size of this thread. You might want to delete it altogether.

If you're here pimping Hoyer as an option then I will propose Matt Scott from UofA. Smart, good arm, mobile, knows pistol offense

pimping?

I'm not pimping anyone- I pay $'s I never recieve $-
He is on the roster and could possibly compete with Kolb for 9 million less salary cap-

He has 4 years in the NFL 3 under Belicheck - so the next QB up has to beat him out at the bottom of the food chain.- And if Arians shapes an offense to his skill set- He could be the best all around QB we have on the roster at the moment.

If healthy, Kolb is better than Skelton, Lindley or Hoyer in my opinion. Problem, be it that he is fragile for the sport or just bad luck, you cannot depend on Kolb to be available for extended periods of time...that makes him useless. Hoyer is better than Skelton or Lindley to me but he is still lacking in what one would want at the position. I would not mind if Arians cleared this whole position out and draft and acquire his guys of his choosing and not the choices of a former staff which ended up being its downfall.

yes

Kolbs getting top money and did not beat Skelton out. If We go West coast he may have more value. I'm hoping.

I love Leinart!

Do you love Leinart just because you see him, Brick?

I love Leinart! I love Leinart.

You and the Leenart should adopt a child together in Vermont.

Seriously, though, I like Hoyer because he is polite and rarely late.

Don't be surprised to see Hoyer get poached early in free agency by the Cleveland Browns. Michael Lombardi has been keeping a tab on Hoyer since he was a Patriot, and would probably like to bring him in for a look-see.

hell

Good point on the steelers dropping him, I just think he may be a better fit for Arians future than West Coast Kolb? Hell I don't know- I still think Skelton has the tools and it the right system with the right support He could grow into something special.

I mean Flacco, Big Ben, Matt Ryan was Coddled and developed, Our QB's started in pass fest hell and were burnt to pieces in their first start. I see alot of QB recommendations outside our roster that don't beat or equal Hoyer.
