I think I do as well. The difference is that Golden plays special teams, and that is a difference maker for Arians for players deep on the depth chart.

Powell will easily land a spot somewhere if he is cut.

Same here. Seems Golden has more upside, including PRs and KRs. Powell can be on the roster for ST and still use him at times for a WR.

That's sort of my thought too Shaggy. Both Britten Golden and Juron Brown look to be solid special teamers, and could be additional receivers. Fitz, Floyd, Ginn, John Brown, and Walt Powell could be the receiving corps. I would think that this would give BA a lot of flexibility, both at special teams, and at wide receiver. It also provides great depth.

No effing way, IMO. Dude is great on KR/PR and speedy. He and Brown are uncoverable with both on the field. And from BA's quotes, Ginn is catching everything in camp - keeping a Golden or a Powell over him would be insane.

Golden isn't that much of a sight at returner anyway. Would rather see others back there too.

These young kids in camp have shown enough promise.. that I'd hate to punt them to another team and watch them become all-pros, something that just ain't gonna happen with Ginn.

I think Ginn will get his, and we can't have Peterson or Honey returning, so he is huge there too. But I guess this was all hypothetical so I'll chill.

That's what I love about this setup the Cards have. Teams will be going crazy on who they need to double up as the Cards have so many great WRs already. Its nuts to think the amount of WR talent we have now. Its going to be a fun season to watch this year!

I'll take production in real NFL games over promise in camp. Both Golden and Powell would kill for the "limited" career Ginn has had so far. In fact, I'd be willing to bet neither of them touch anything Ginn has done, NFL-wise, in their careers. And, agreeably, Ginn hasn't had a standout career.

If we were to keep the BEST 53 players, then both, imo, Powell and Golden would make the final roster, but we know that we won't go with seven WR's. And that's too bad, because both have a lot of potential. Having to choose, I'd go with Powell as he's three years younger. It's certain whoever gets cut will sign elsewhere.

We go 4 wide with Fitz & Ginn & Floyd & John Brown. The opposing defense is yelling, pointing, scrambling...then Ellington goes in motion from the backfield and the DC throws down the clipboard and quits on the spot.

Yeah, those are the moments I'm anticipating most.

Positions By Injuries

I just looked it up, the data is a few years old but it says that RBs get hurt the most often statistically speaking. Than it's DTs. After that it's a toss up between WRs and CBs.

The DT became slim pickins as far as talent available goes in the NFL, it's unpredictable, and that's why teams have to be deep in certain areas. We are deep at WR, abyss deep. RBs? We better hope Ellington stays up right, because our inside O line is still figuring things out. CBs? We are pretty stacked, not double stuffed Oreos stacked but we are well off.

T o expect the unexpected is what can keep you semi-protected. We have 6 receivers, we have to consider Floyd and Fitz untrade-able. Michael is our future, too much invested, Fitz has a contract that makes him untrade-able, unless he wanted to renogoshe and I don't see that happening in a "Superbowl Run" year.

If we keep all six, and showcase the young talent early, I think the need will be there and the phone might ring. If (two "ifs" in row, I know, but I'm getting there) we can get a performance like we had in preseason, one of these younger cats having a huge day, than we might be able to land a really nice draft pick or two for next year, maybe even some real help for this year but that's even more unlikely.

More good news... LB is the next position that's is most commonly injured.
