Without Steve Nash I could easily see the Suns losing to Denver, Philadelphia, Minnesota, the Lakers, Houston, Sacramento, Denver, and even one of the really crappy teams. I don't think any game is a sure thing or even a likely win without him. Of course I don't expect him to be out the entire remainder of the schedule either.

As long as he plays in most of the games I figure the worst-case scenario is a . 500 record the rest of the way.

I agree with that. However, I actually think we will play better down the stretch.

McCarty and Jackson have both had time to fit in now. We have a legit bench all of the sudden with those two and Barbosa coming back into form. Then toss in production from either Hunter or Voskuhl.

Even if Steve isn't hurt, he should actually get a lot more rest than he was able to in the beginning of the season.

If Hunter can build off of last night, and get through this apparent focus issue that will be huge for the Suns.

Then toss in that we are still neck and neck with the spurs, so the Suns will be a race for home court advantage throughout the playoffs. They shouldn't take any games off against weak opponents because the general feeling now is everything counts.

I will second the 22-5 record for the rest of the way.

Well I have us losing to all of those teams in my scenario :) Except for Denver, yeah I guess I have us splitting with LA, Minnesota and Houston, but that shouldn't be too much to ask for when they're a 500 team...

Well I agree about Minny and LA, but Houston is playing amazing right now.

And James should fit right in to help while Sura is out.

Houston has lost two straight and made a move for cap room by getting rid of Taylor. I don't know how much time he was getting, but they are hardly on fire anymore.

I'm not that worried about how many wins the team gets. Two years ago the Suns all but threw away their last game after clinching the 8th slot in order to rest their starters.

Back in the early 90's the Warriors won their final game, which had the bizzare result of setting up a much tougher playoff matchup - they lost in the first round. In the last week of the season, it may be that losing might have benefits. It might effect the quest for 60.

I'll keep the thread going anyway, if that's okay with you. Some other people seem to be interested in it.

Suns hopefully get 60 wins, but Spurs will get it also and in the east Miami seems likely to get it, so its good and all but not that special. Its all about the matchup and seedings.

60 wins is a huge improvement from 29 last season, but I rather suns get a matchup in the playoffs that favors us in away that we dont get pushed into 6-7 games...or even lose the series.

Right now, I think we are either matched up against Memphis or Lakers. Memphis has our number so far in the regular season, but that doesnt account for much since we had Spur's number 2 seasons ago, yet we still lost in the playoffs. Lakers are more unstable, since they would rely on Kobe being hot down the stretch, but outside of Kobe and Odom, they dont have another big scorer who can be hot for 3-4 games in a row.

So basically, hopefully we get 60, but not in away to make us get the seeding that matches us against a danger threath in the playoffs.

Just a suggestion, maybe put "Record after (insert team's name we played last here) game: " just so we don't have to double check the record ourselves to see if the thread is updated. :D

BTW, the Suns have now won more games than they did two years ago when they qualified for the playoffs.

Thanks! I'm sure I'll forget once or twice (uh, or more) before the season is out, but I'll hang in there.

Actually, we can start a magic number watch for the Pacific title pretty soon too. It's at 13 now, if I'm not mistaken.
