Strengths
Loose lower body. Good balance and short-area quickness. Slippery after the catch -- can elude the first tackler and dart to daylight. Shows confidence and a knack for finding creases as a returner -- four scores the last two seasons. Productive three-year starter. Smart and competitive. Two-time team captain with terrific intangibles -- cares about the game and works at his craft.
Weaknesses
Has a thin build and short arms. Needs to get stronger -- ill-equipped to combat press coverage. Not an explosive, quick-twitch athlete. Average hands and foot speed. Route running needs refinement. Underpowered blocker.

This pick I don't like. Would rather see us get corner depth here than another WR. I think we are by far set at that spot.

Sam would have been a good pick there too.

Not sold on a smaller, not fast WR who has a domestic abuse charge in the past. :|

Not strong and not fast...4.63 speed, slower than the QB we just drafted.

This draft has been a head scratcher but like any other can't judge it today.

This is the one pick that I completely don't like. I just can't find a way to spin this into a positive. He's small, but not particularly fast and sure he seems to be a pretty good returner, but having already drafted Brown and with Ginn already on the roster I just don't see a whole lot of value there.

I think they messed up when trying to write Michael Sam on the card.

Walt Powell, WR (5-foot-11 5/8, 189 pounds) — Powell — who was at the NFL Scouting Combine — ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds against the wind and 4.46 seconds with the wind. He had a 32-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-6 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.37 seconds. Powell had an excellent pro day workout. He caught everything thrown to him and made nice adjustments on the ball. He looks like a sixth- or seventh-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, which is saying something considering the depth of the wide receiver group in this year’s draft.

Not to mention domestic abuse charge in the past.

Do. Not. Get. This. Pick.

Not sure why we drafted this guy??? I'm sure that BASK will make a good spin on the pick.

Only one explanation.

BA has the same foot fetish that Rex Ryan has. Films a sex tape with his wife.... Meanwhile Powell takes secret pics from behind a bush in the yard and now forces the hand of Keim.

Arians plans to be the first coach in the NFL to have 4 guys back deep on kick returns and 3 guys on punt returns.

Over/Under on whether he lasts as long as DC Jefferson?

The key with this guy is his kickoff return skills, 31.5 yd avg. Again this is a depth issue to guard against injury to Ginn. This guy doesn't offer much as a receiver that the Cards don't have. However, his ability to set up blocks and ID creases to slide through are impressive. He really sees patterns on the field, but can be caught from behind. He could well stick or at least provide insurance via the practice squad.

Don`t see the need for this pick. With all the WRs available Cards probably could sign a couple as UDFA.Rather see a CB or safety instead of a WR here.
