Just never imagined this would happen after the moves we made in the offseason... [emoji15]

Man I hope this is just a short slump before they really get comfortable and start playing. If this is another mediocre seasons, someone is losing their jobs.

We're just getting the disappointing losses out of the way early on... Yeah, that's the ticket... :|

Maybe a road trip is needed to get going

Our schedule is a killer this month... After playing the loaded Rockies and then the World Series bound Cubbies, we now head off the LA for a 3 gamer against the Dodgers. We squeeze a series against the Padres which should be a lick your wounds and get healthy series for us. But then we head up to Frisco for a 4 gamer against the mighty Giants. We then come home and wrap up April with 10 games against the Pirates, the Cardinals and the Rockies. Eeeeesh... We may very well set a record for the month of April for Home Runs allowed... :(

That is a brutal schedule.

Seriously... I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how a team can look so utterly dominant in spring training and then look so inept come the real games. We all know spring training means squat, but again, we looked so damn dominant in all phases of the game. I think I've concluded that only this schedule could've derailed us as badly as we've looked. Of course, AJ's injury didn't help, but more than that, we were hit with the perfect storm of a schedule...

The timing of the Pollock injury probably has a lot to do with it.

I still believe we have as solid 3-4 starters as anyone, and a 7th, 8th, & 9th inning bullpen with as much potential. If you're more than a casual baseball fan, you'd love a red-hot start, but deep down, you'd be dreading the eventual slump. Maddening game at times.

p.s. - Goldy is resembling the 2015 2nd half Goldy, and I'm hoping that ends quickly as well.

I've noticed that as well... He does not look comfortable at the plate at all...Which is, as you say, eerily similar to how he looked in the second half of last season. :(

Last nights game was encouraging. I don't expect our top pitchers to continue with a near ten Era.

But then, if you want to contend, you need to win more than 30% of your games against the top teams in the league. Especially at home. I'm thinking they will start coming around. ☺️
