Means nothing if we lose first game.

Not saying we will, but it could happen.

I don't want to just beat this "curse", I wanna hammer it.

Just goes to show that we should have won last year. Also says that the Seahawks should have won 3 against the Steelers. I honestly hate the black and gold more than Dallas simply because of all the calls they get.

Two way media perception
The Cards are in the Playoffs because of a weak division
Pittsburgh didn't make it this year because of injuries to the D

The Cardinals should have made more plays and the calls wouldn't have made a difference.

First, I was joking for the most part. I guess I really do need to just make my sig the laughing smilie because I am taken entirely to seriously on this board.

Buuuuuuuuut, this was the Super Bowl, not a first place team versus the Rams. To expect a blowout would be senseless IMO. Games between equally matched teams come to to small events and individual plays. A blown call can be that. saying that we should have made more plays is a cop out IMO. If the refs had no bearing on the outcome of games then why is it so hard to become an NFL ref, and why does the league use them anyhow? How many 3rd downs did the refs convert for them when Big Ben couldn't? Do you really think that Warner fumbled on the last play? To this day I do not understand why there was no review.

I am not saying that we won the game, I am simply stating that questionable officiating contributed to the last two Steeler Super Bowls. Combined with the fact that steroids were a major contributor to their first four and you have much of my reasoning for hating them.

There are exceptions to every rule and this one being that when the Super Bowl loser is from the NFC West and lose to the Steelers in the Super Bowl, the opposite happens.

Seattle won the division in '06 after losing to Pittsburgh in SB XL and the Steelers finished 8-8 and did not make it in. This year, the Cards won the division, and the Steelers will finish no better than 9-7 and need some unlikely help just to get in as a wildcard.

There's a Lesson to be Learned Here...

It's embodied in Shzmn 13's "Cardinals...Curse Bangers" comment.

There will be inevitably other "Never before in the history of the NFL" situations the Cardinals will have to deal with.

My idea of a great leader is the coach or player who stands up in the locker room at halftime and tells the players:

"So OK. You're down 34 - 0. No team in the history of pro football has ever come back from that deep a deficit. Do you realize what that means? You can be the only team in pro football history to come back from a 31 - 0 hole. So let's all go out and do it!"

I'd love to death the idea of the Cardinals going out each and every day with the mindset of upsetting the conventional wisdom applecart. (Team motto should be: "What dumb stat can we blow up today?"). I can't think of a better way to deflate forever the proverbial "800 lb gorilla."
