This past week, my wife was doing some modeling work at the Consumer Electronics Show. On Wednesday night, Maxim magazine had an event and she was invited to attend. Several current and former NFL players were there including Jeff Garcia, Napolean McCallum and a player that used to play for the Vikings who will go unnamed. Anyway, Ro was talking to the former Vikings player about Denny Green coming to coach the Cardinals. She asked him what he thought about Green. The player's comment went something like this, "Well put it this way. When I got there, we had seventeen white guys on the team. When I left, we had four. I feel that Denny purposely got rid of the white players over time".
Now keep in mind that neither Ro nor I share this player's opinion. I'm just reporting what she was told.
And another interesting thing happened at the event too. Evidently Jeff Garcia was a judge in the Maxim magazine national model search. He was trashed beyond repair and was so completely out of control with some of the female contestants, that they had to end the event early. I told Ro that I always thought Garcia was gay just from his mannerisms and such, and so imagining him getting lewd and rude with the girls didn't track for me. Her comment, "Methinks he doth protest too much".
