This is great news! I've been waiting for a player to break the deadlock. Wilson has made his home in our red hearts here in the sun. Thanks for a great past and heres' looking at the next 5 years! I'll drink to that!

Good job Rod as angry as we appear at times we know you are working for the right deal for player and team. Thanks!

That's the same annual salary as Ed Reed with a higher guarantee. AW should be happy.

You actually might be much closer then you think you are by bringing up the name Ed Reed. I heard that the structure of Reeds contract was a very big thing used in negotiations and the final product is very similar in structure. Meaning a signing bonus, an option bonus in 2010, and an option bonus in 2011.

Example Reed got 15 mill gauranteed - 7.5 mill was a signing bonus, 6 mill option bonus due to him in year two, and 1.5 mill in option bonus due in year three.

ESPN is reporting that Ed Reed has sustained a serious injury to his right thumb attempting to call his agent 1.2 seconds after he learned of Wilson's deal

I have this old-school Cardinals penant at home, it has one signature on it, I got it to AW to sign it his rookie year. I still remember him sitting there all by himself, real quite and (if you can believe it) looking small.

I bought the penant for the sole purpose of getting a piece of Cardinals gear with his autograph on it; the part that makes me laugh is that he signed it so SMALL; it was like he was trying to leave room for everybody elses name and number too!

I am so glad he will retire a Cardinal; nice job FO. Eventually we will have TWO AW's on the Ring of Honor.

FLIPPIN' SWEET!

Now, this was the easier one, with smooth and quiet negotiations, which was almost a fait accompli. Now we see what our FO can do with the two big headache negotiations. Step one is done; now we must step up and finish the rest.

Wilson is straight-up the most important player on the defensive side of the ball for the Cardinals!

It's a good day!

This is odd, AZcentral is reporting that Adrian's deal is worth $37M with $15.5M in guarantees, while NFL.com is reporting that the deal is worth $39M with $18.5M in guarantees? Someone's obviously wrong, but who? lol

My gut says Q is next.

Let's be realistic here, folks. Unless Dansby signs a long-term deal, we will not have the cap space to give Boldin a good enough deal.
