Mike B is a true fan of the team and the game. I have had the chance to hang out with him several times in social settings and the guy loves this team and wants to win more than anyone in the organization. He truly wants the team to be great.

At the Fan Fest after the Super Bowl I found myself standing near him. He was chit-chatting and I half-blurted out "Thank you, Michael" because saying something seemed appropriate.

He turned and looked at our little group and said, "No. Thank you." That impressed me. A lot.

this isnt the first time Mike B was there for the players.. when Q broke his face in NY.. Mike B stayed back and flew Q in his jet back to PHX..

I'd totally forgotten about that, but you're right--that is all class!

Not sure how common it is in the NFL or with this organization in the past, but I thought it was pretty cool to see Michael Bidwill on the sideline at this game (on the road) cheering on the team. I really get the feeling that he is actually invested in this team not just Financially, but emotionally as well.

It would be hard to not be pumped up at this game. If I were an owner I would be at every game as close to the sidelines as I could get and not be an influence or interfere with the coaches. Our defense coach by the numbers may be the best in he the NFL for the past 8-10 games. Picking up Gay was a great pickup. Signing Campbell and Docket were A+. Peterson was probably the best pick we have made since Fitz. Keep them coming. Peterson all way scares me as there is not much of anything he will not return even with people right on him. He is an all pro in he mold of Wilson only faster. Hard hitter but needs to stay a little off as he is getting called for to many pass interferences. How about that one handed interception yesterday. That is one for the ages. I really like our DB's. They held one of the best if not the best QB's in football to one TD. They certainly helped the defensive line with their close coverage. The game against Seattle the Sea-hawks must have had 10 or more attempts from inside the 10 and could not score on our DB's. I am impressed and become more impressed with how important the DBs are to all phases of the defensive game.

Let's not forget that the fumble ocurred on the 5th consecutive carry by Williams. The coaches evidently had a lot of confidence in him.

Makes you wonder, though, whether anyone in the huddle cautioned him out loud before every break to "cover the ball with both hands because they'll try to strip it" (if for no other reason than to take the curse off).

“We’ve got to stay humble, got to keep working,” Dockett said. “The biggest thing is not give up the big plays. Do the small things. Trust your teammates. It’s going to be hard to move the ball against a defense that’s as athletic as we are, with all the weapons we have. If you do small things, you’ll win the ball game.”

“Real close?” Fitzgerald said. “That’s not good enough right now.”

love the attitude. They just beat the top ranked team in the NFL and this is how our stars take it... :D

AZ Central has a good article they posted last night about the RW fumble. His reaction, M.Bidwill's comments/reaction, DD & Kolb and the teams thoughts about the fumble and win. I didn't know Ryan William's Grandfather had passed away so he wasn't at the Monday practice. Hard times for the kid for sure. :(

Fitz says it right about what's more important in life... about Ryan's fumble and family loss. "It kind of puts things in perspective."

After reading that. I think Ryan get's it, about not fumbling.

The Ryan Williams fumble situation reminds me a lot of the famous Leon Lett play at the end of the Thanksgiving snow game between Dallas and Miami.

A promissing young player made a horrific mistake and cost their team a hard-fought victory (glad we got the win). Jones and Jimmy both stood up publically and supported their guy, when a lot of people were calling for his head.

Lett went on to have a very productive career (though tarnished by multiple drug suspensions) and was indeed an impact player for several very talented Dallas teams.

Here's to hoping Williams rises above his bone-headed mistake. Nice to see the org. step up and support him too though.

Reminds me of watching Ed Reed in his rookie season vs. the Bengals. (I was a Ravens season ticket holder, living in the DC area and despising the Redskins more than any other team!) Reed intercepted a pass around midfield and made a nice return for what should've been a TD... except that Reed started hot-dogging before he got into the end zone, holding the ball out where TJ Who'sYourMama knocked it out of his hands and recovered in the end zone for a touchback.

I remember screaming, with utter certainty, that that little punk #20 was a total loser who didn't belong in the league and would never amount to anything!

Not in any way projecting Williams' future to be as good as Reed's, nor comparing the reasons underlying what happened, just saying a young player making an egregious error that could've cost a big win doesn't necessarily doom his career! Williams certainly seems to have the right attitude.

...dave

P.S. Although this is a bit alarming:
Williams surely had a difficult flashback.

In 2009, as a redshirt freshman for Virginia Tech, he fumbled with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter that allowed North Carolina to kick a game-winning 21-yard field goal as time expired.
