Not sure how common it is in the NFL or with this organization in the past, but I thought it was pretty cool to see Michael Bidwill on the sideline at this game (on the road) cheering on the team. I really get the feeling that he is actually invested in this team not just Financially, but emotionally as well.

Mike B is amazing. He's been the catalyst to the Cards resurgence, IMO. He bleeds cardinal red.

I loved how he was hugging Ryan Williams after the missed FG.

Not trying to thread jack but i dont believe he or anyone should do that.

Hes a great kid, hardworker, and has had some tough luck but that fumble was inexcusable. That was the absolute worst play a player can make in the NFL. He needs to be alienated for at least a week. He shouldnt get more than 5 carries next week.

After that, he can have respect back

none of that will teach him anymore than he already knows. He was distraught on the sideline treating him like a naughty little school boy wont do a thing except destroy a fragile confidence even more. Just emphasize ball security and test him in the week by having the D try to get the ball out.

he's leant his lesson.

Does not matter whether it was inexcusable or not (it was horrific, and inexcusable). Having the de factor owner in chief of the team drape his arm on you and pick you up is the best thing for someone who just lost the damn game for his team that came in and beat Goliath. But for a crazy missed kick, RW would be crippled right now.

Owners can do that...the coach can NOT. RW was basically gutted with a knife during that last minute. That Mike B was in his corner helped, but not much. He knew there were 51 guys he had let down...

Props to Mike B, for once again being personification of what the Cards stand for: Honest, hardworking people with integrity.

disagree. Some people need tough love. I don't believe Ryan Williams is one of those people. The kid is so nice and humble. He wears his heart on his sleeve and gives everything he has on the field. I think words of encouragement from the owner were exactly what he needed. He's still basically a rookie, he's learning the hard way, but he's still learning

Play call was fine.

Football 101. Never pitch the ball in that situation. It makes no sense. Not only did they mess up by not downing but you don't lead a RB towards the sideline either. It's Williams' fault for coughing it up but we will never see that play again in the same situation.

agreed. I thought the exact same when they pitched it immediately after the announcer said "they just need to make sure they don't fumble"

I saw the Rams run almost the same play yesterday in a similar spot.

No problem with the play call. However, Wells probably should have been in there rather than a 1st year guy.

I wanted to see a QB sneak. Run the clock down to 20 seconds or so and punt it. Ill take my chances with Brady at his own 25yd line with 15 seconds and no timeouts.

You know how, at some HOF inductions in Canton, the player gets all teary-eyed when he thanks the owner during his speech? The owner who was also mentor and cheer-leader and friend.

Michael could just turn out to be that guy.

I was enormously happy when I saw him next to Williams. He's connected to the team as a whole and he's connected to the players as individuals. That moment between Williams and Michael is not going to go unnoticed by the other players. Players want an owner who cares about them as people, not just bodies who help put money in the bank. We had a horrible moment turn around for us. Michael was right there to be a part of it. I think it's a great sign for the franchise.

No problem with the play call. I too would have preferred Wells to be there (Whiz denied that he was hurt [which I acknowledge doesn't mean anything]), but Ryan did just get us the 1st down to "seal" the win. I don't mind Whiz giving the ball back to Ryan... he had "earned" that playing time by getting the tough yards on the previous few plays.

I also like the Michael Bidwill and Andy Dalton were there with Ryan. No mistake, there was a bit of "suicide-watch" going on, but win or lose, they were letting him know he's still a valuable part of this team. We are going to NEED Ryan this season.

Go Cards!!!

Mike B is a true fan of the team and the game. I have had the chance to hang out with him several times in social settings and the guy loves this team and wants to win more than anyone in the organization. He truly wants the team to be great.
