A little levity.

Forget about our miserable football team for a second, and hope for the safety of the residents of the east coast

On a side note, I was stationed on a ballistic missile submarine in Charleston SC when Hugo hit. We were sent to sea before the storm came and we rode out the storm underwater. The hurricane was so powerful that we were taking forty degree rolls 150 below the surface. It was a wild week and many of people got sick or injured. Needless to say that is will be a lifetime memory for me. I just hope that this hurricane doesn't bring the same type of force that Hugo did.

Our office is under mandatory evacuation right now. I'm in process of storing "vital" paperwork then off to the house to finish getting it ready.

My wife, an ICU RN at the local Childrens Hospital, was told to bring a sleeping bag and change of clothes to work. They are not allowing her to leave tonight to ensure that she is available to work tommorrow.

Me and the dog are going to ride it out at home. We are a bit further inland, so I'm not too worried about flooding.

In case I don't get to log back in here for a few days: Jake sux, we should have gotten something for Boston, Bidwill needs to sell the team, Rod Graves is an idiot, we can't develop any young players, etc.

Go Cards!!!

I was about to post that. On the bright side, huge waves here in Florida. My friend told his work that he won't come in Thursday so he can surf.

Umm, agreed. Levity? I don't find a hurricane that is headed towards my fathers house all that lighthearted, cheerful or humorous. But, at least it is off topic!!! :?

I was going to post the definition of "levity" when I saw this thread last night but I thought I'd just be flamed, lol.

But yeah, I was wondering how a hurricane is something "light, or funny" to take us away from the misery of the Cards, lol.

Nothing funny about a hurricane obviously but Cards fans finally get to see some sound defensive strategy and my guess is the good citizens of the Carolinas will make the proper adjustments when called for.

Yep, we got the same message but I know them and there is a lot of the "Been there done that, hurricanes are no big deal to us folks who are used to them" mentality.

Luckily they are not right on the beach and the storm surge map suggests they will be cut off in a Cat 2 but should still be above the surge in a Cat 4.

Hey all,

This is the first I've logged in since the hurricane. My home still has no power, phone, or cell phone service.

I just drove into the office on sunday so I could log my pool picks before kickoff.

My house went unscathed, but I've spent the last two days cutting and hauling trees for my neighbors. There are probably 500 trees down in my neighborhood alone.

The one thing that truely sux is I just mailed off DTV Sunday Ticket payment #3, and I cant watch the game with the power out.

Perhaps someone can send me a copy of the game in a few days.

Go Cards!!!

I suppose the intent was more along the lines of a little perspective...

Bingo!!!

Probably could have used a little different word choice, but I was in a hurry.

Edit: Ima an idiot, now more quasi-big words for me:p
