I like peterson but Brown was the better pick for us because we needed oline help the most, but I think both players will have a good carrer in the nfl and will each help out their own teams.

i'm pretty sure that awful Chargers team needed O-line help as well but they went with LT anyway.

Yes the Cards screwed this thing up...they could have had Adrain Peterson in round 1 and then taken Tony Ugoh to play left tackle in round 2. I said this back in April.

peterson aka AD(all day) has always been a stud and always will be. He is better than cedric benson the back that took AD's spot at UT. I wish he came to UT. anyway, i think there are going to be a couple of teams that regret not taking him. maybe not the cards, but you never know. I don't see how LT didn't go first. He was CLEARLY the best player in CFB when he was at TCU, but people find ways to not believe what they see on the field.

You guys keep saying that. But I dont recall anybody banging down our door offering anything for him. I still dont buy it.

I dont disagree that Peterson is a stud. But I Believe we also got a stud. A good T can go along ways towards solidifying a team.

Im sorry but Davis HAD TO GO!

Shane- guess what? It only takes one team to make a trade and you don't think the 'boys or the 'skins wouldn't have seriously considered trading for LD during last season? We could've gotten a pick for him and then drafted AP and gotten a decent OT. This team couldn't have used Peterson's speed huh?

Nope nobody would have traded for him. Once again you have no proof anyone would have either.

But if teams had shown interest we WOULD have heard about it from somewhere. Nobody was going to give up picks for LD.

Who would have been out decent OT we would have gotten in your scenario however? do tell? Becasue at most we would have gotten a third rounder. So please tell me who it would have/could have been?

I would have rather had Peterson than Brown but whats done is done. I hope Brown turns in to a cornerstone on our offensive line for the next decade+, but that doesn't mean I don't think Peterson is going to have a great career.

At least Peterson didn't end up a Raider or Cowboy so I don't have to dislike the kid. I hope he has success against everyone he plays except us.

The boys wouldn't have traded for him if we had resigned him like we should have? The skins didn't bring him in for a visit during FA did they? There will very likely be a decent 3rd round tackle that will develop out of this year's draft. There is nearly always a decent 3rd or lower OT that comes out of each draft.

Oh and I guess you must believe that we don't need AP's speed on this team huh?

At the same time you have no proof to your assertion, nobody knows. You can't say that we would have heard anything. It takes 2 teams to make a deal, maybe nobody thought Davis was available or maybe teams already knew the Cards weren't re-signing him so why bother even trying to trade for him?

Whatever, Davis is a Cowboy...screw him.

Actually when a team is interested in a player and they inquire as to what it would take to get them you pretty much always here about it from somewhere. The John Clayton's of the world are pretty much on top of that.

No way to prove it either way..its a dead issue to be honest.

First off we SHOULDNT have resigned him and to say so is just crazy IMO. So the skins brought him in for a visit? Bif willy deal. Dont mean they would have traded for him. We dont have time to "develop" a 3rd T as you say. Our OL was to damn bad to have to develop anything. We needed an immediate upgrade at OT and we got IMO.

Speed is nice but necessary. So no we didn't NEED it!

If you keep track of football and watch sportcenter you KNOW we would have heard rumblings if anyone showed any iota of interest. You can deny it and say we dont have proof because we dont. But thats pretty much been the standard in the NFL for years.

Why would there have been any trade rumors when he was never anything but a free agent the entire offseason? Do you think some GM was going to call the Cards and say, "Hey, if you guys put the tag on Davis, call us for a trade."? No, of course not. I can think of only one, or two, GMs who might be stupid enough to do something like that. And, one of them couldn't offer themselves a trade.

The Cards could've put the tag on him for two weeks, and let him go right before free agency begun. Nobody EVER signs the one year tender before free agency starts.

But, whatever.... hopefully we win for a long time with Brown. We are really putting a lot on his back.

Everyone needs to stop talking about it. We were told to get over it.

you know what would help tremendously getting over things people are constantly told to get over regarding the Cardinals? The Cardinals actually doing something to make us move on - you know, like putting an NFL team on the field for us to watch and enjoy. It's hard to get over things, when nothing ever changes.

And you think that going on about it is going to change that? Good luck with that strategy.

Can you prove beyond a doubt that we know of ANY talk of trades or behind the door meetings? No you can't, you can speculate but you can't say that definitively. Like I said in a previous post, teams may not have show any interest in a trade because they assumed the Cards were either not going to re-sign him or were going to franchise him. We'll NEVER know, you me or anyone else outside of the front office.

I kind of doubt NFL reporters are privy to 100% of what goes on in organizations.

Peterson is special. I rank him up there with Steven Jackson and Roy Williams ( WR ) as players I wished Cards had drafted.

Yup, Roy Williams sure had another stellar game tonight against the Giants, didn't he?
