I'm a uncle's monkey??
Sad fact is if at the begining of the season I told you the following things were true prior to the last game of the season:
"Our starting QB's will combine for over 4400 yards, complete almost 62% of thier passes, and have more TD's then Int's thrown."
"We will have 2 WR's who in the final game have a great chance of passing 100 receptions and 1400 yards each, and combined will have 16 TD's."
"We will have the best kicker in the league, who will have a great chance of breaking the FG record, and who will consistantly kick it for touchbacks"
"We will have a top 10 ranked defense who will have produce 34 turnovers going into that final game"
"We will have 2 starters in the pro-bowl and 3 alternates going into the pro-bowl"
Lets be honest, based on all those comments you would be hyped up going into the season feeling we should definitly have a winning record and probably going into the playoffs. Unfortunatly I also have to inform you of the following:
"Our special teams will be ranked dead last in the NFL on punt/KO coverage, giving up 5 TD's to opponants on that coverage"
"Our running game will be dead last, with a good shot to break the record for worst running attack ever going into the final game of the season, averaging just 63 yards per game AS A TEAM"
"We will lose the Turnover battle and be -13 going into the final game"
"We will easily be one of the MOST penalized teams in the league, and a number of the penalties will come at the worst time (i.e. on 3rd down we stop them, give up a penalty giving them a first keeping a drive alive)"
"We will be decimated by injuries, losing a number of quality starters for at least 1 game and most for multiple games including, but not limited to: Def- Bertrand Berry(8 ), Karlos Dansby (1), James Darling (2), Russel Davis (13), Eric Green (2), Gerald Hayes (season), Kenny King (season), David Macklin (1), Calvin Pace (10), Antrel Rolle (10). Off- JJ Arrington (1), Anquan Boldin (2), Jeremy Bridges (9), Elton Brown (7), James Hodgins (14), Bryant Johnson (2), Nick Lecky (2), Neil Rackers (2), JR Redmond (season), Oliver Ross (4), Alex Steponavich (6), Marcel Shipp (1), Kurt Warner (5), & Reggie Wells (6). and over 15 players both starters and backups will end up on the IR before the final game."
See the other half of the quote and you could very well see us now at the 5-10 we are, this tells us a couple of things to me:
#1 We need O-Line help, both quaility starters and more quality depth players if injuries occur.
#2 We need a new special teams Coach
#3 We need to improve our discipline (one thing is alot of our penalties were on special teams so hopefully fixing #2 will help #3)
#4 We hopefully will not have to be completely decimmating by injuries.
