Some of the Marion trades have been amusing. Others have been beyond laughable. I am not among those opposed to trading Marion, but I suggest a reminder slogan be put at the top of the board:
DENNIS JOHNSON FOR 40-YEAR-OLD RICK ROBEY.
That was straight up. No cash. Probably not even a night with a Boston hooker.
I guess it's funny now, but I wasn't laughing then, especially when my dad explained to me who Rick Robey was and how he was such a stud back when HE was in school. When he arrived, I thought he was a new assistant coach who dressed up in warmups.
So before you go trading Marion for a drumstick and a lotto ticket, think about one of the worst trades in American sports history.
