Well I make it no secret that I am a FULL blown UofA hater.. If we ever got into a war with Mexico, and I was President, first thing I would do is offer Tucson as a peace agreement...

That said I feel like I have an open mind when is comes to sports in general, but to read UofA fans talk about luring Caliparri to Tucson is just ridiculous...

Tell me I'm wrong, but just IMO, and I am not an expert by ANY means on the situation, nor do I claim to be, Take away Lute Olsen and UofA basketball is just not a big deal... And they have shown it in recent years, UofA basketball has certainly lost something, and losing by 40, didn't help, no matter how much money they pay, they are going to have a hard time luring a "big-time" coach to Tucson....

By the way, its not just UofA fans.... at least we can agree that you are no expert.

LMAO!!!!

The guy that wrote that "article" here is his Bio:

Alex's Bio

I am a fan of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happy-ness. And besides that, I am a fan of the Virginia Cavaliers athletics program, particularly the true "team" sports... such as college basketball, baseball, soccer, football, lacrosse, softball, and volleyball.

I may not be an expert, but posting an article written by a 12 year-old as proof of why UofA is a top coaching vacancy.... Just Classic! :D

A "12 year-old" knows more about college basketball than you?

Just Classic

Could you please point out to me where I said this guy was an expert? The only mention I made of any expert, is that I agreed w AsUdUde that he is not one.

I can promise you, I will NEVER refer to any person in the media or a blogger as an "expert"

You clearly stated and pointed out that I was no expert, then inserted the link as a reason why, CLEARLY using it as a mode to prove that the "experts" know that UofA is a top level job..

Just because you didn't spell it out doesn't mean you didn't try... you can deny all you want, but you saw a proffesional looking article that supported your point and used it... Its cool, it happends, just admit it... :D

Arizona is a top level job. It has a solid tradition, above average facilities, tremendous community support, easy recruiting base, and pays more than any other program on the West Coast and top 10 nationally. If Arizona doesn't hire a quality coach it won't be because the job isn't any good it will be because Jim lIvengood sucks at his job.

Like Skkorp said, if you hire the top notch coach, I see a relatively pain free return to a top 10-15 program. If not, we'll look back a couple years from now and laugh at how you guys ripped Herb all the time. I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
I am confident we'll hire a good coach despite Livengood's past failures. The opportunity is too good for too many coaches to pass up. At the very worst I think we'll end up with Billy Gillispie who would have Arizona settled in as the second best program on the West Coast rather quickly. And we rip Herb because he's merely a decent coach. One Round of 32 appearance and a couple NIT berths in one's first five years gets you canned at Arizona and lauded at ASU. That's why we knock you much like ASU fan does us for having such low expectations in football.

Are Roy Williams, Jay Bilas, and Tom Izzo's opinions valid? They've all publicly stated Arizona is a top job in recent days. And you eat up everything Syracuselaxman says on these boards and I don't even think he's old enough to drink.

A Wildcat hater takes big shots at you
Doyel hates Arizona, him and Lute absolutely detested one another for years. He's also been predicting the demise of the Arizona program for years and we just came off our 25th consecutive Tournament appearance and a Sweet 16 in a transition year. And we have a pretty good chance at hiring a terrific coach pretty shortly that will get us back to the Tournament by 2011. Arizona is in good position right now provided they make the right hire.

Sorry if you misunderstood the point I was trying to get across, I was only trying to show you that UofA fans werent the only ones that believed that the Cats would land a top coach... nothing more.

I really dont think there is a such thing as an expert in the field, whoever wrote that article or any other basketball related blog or news article is no smarter than you, me, or any other ******* that posts in these type of forums. There are only a handful of people right now that know for certain what the Cats are doing... Livengood, the coaches he's chasing, and probably a couple of big boosters.

Your absolutely right, The world is out to get you guys, Doyle is against you and thus writes HATE articles that clearly are part of a bigger conspiracy that you can blame when you guys don't land a top notch coach...

If you can't see the bias in those last 2 Doyle articles your even more of a space case then I originally thought.

And I wasn't giving you the credit of a 6 year old that wet his pants before so......

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about so just give it a rest. Doyle went so far as to make a joke about the black 00 patch Arizona was wearing on their jerseys a few years ago.

Its pretty much a given anytime someone is wearing a black patch on their jersey it is in honor of someone who has passed away. UA was wearing that 00 patch in honor of UA womens basketball player Shawntinice Polk, who had recently passed away after collapsing at McKale Center.

Doyle has posted several articles bashing Lute and UA over the years and its no secret that he hates UA and Lute cant stand him.

Never said the world is out to get us. Just that certain journalists have personal biases. One of Doyel's is his hatred of Arizona which he fully admits.

Ouch man... not going to lie.. that stung a little, I thought you would at the very least give me an 8 year old who didn't have that problem.... but its all good I know you only mean half of it :D

And if all these things about Doyle are true, then I stand corrected, he is just a douche... pulling the whole black patch joke card is low and uncalled for... I see hwy you guys would hate that dude...
