The Aaron Rodgers supporters came out in droves on Monday. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk called out fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers over their overreaction to the potential Steel City signing of Rodgers, and now a former Packers teammate of his has placed all the blame on the Black and Gold.
When asked whether an ultimatum could hurry along the situation with Rodgers and the Steelers, former Packers WR—and now FOX Sports analyst—James Jones explained why it wouldn't work:
"It's too late—you already showed Aaron Rodgers, 'we are waiting on you.' We told all these quarterbacks no. We told Russell Wilson no. We lost out on all these quarterbacks. So, the only option left to do—if you want to try to have a productive season—is to bring in Aaron Rodgers. You have to wait on him."
Jones supported this argument by pointing to the lack of available starting-caliber quarterbacks in the draft outside of Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. He also argued that the Pittsburgh Steelers have a strong roster that deserves better than trotting out Mason Rudolph as the 2025 starting QB.
Regardless of how anyone may feel about Rodgers, the former Packers receiver turned analyst is right about one aspect of this QB dilemma—Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers did this to themselves.

"The Steelers have no choice but to wait on Aaron Rodgers. They put themselves in this position."
