If true I hope GM Graves is able to remain with the organization in another capacity. Truly a great guy and has tried his best to get Cardinals a trophy- and they came close.

He'll probably have to relocate his office and surrender his stapler like 'Milton'. :D

If it goes down like this, Schefter will claim this was his "scoop".

Well, actually it will be a scoop in novel form - something like this: We have breaking news out of Arizona, my sources have confirmed that General Manager Rod Graves and Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt of the Arizona Cardinals have been fired today. I repeat, they have been fired and will no longer be employed by the Cardinals of Arizona. Once again, both the General Manager and the Head Coach of the Arizona Cardinals have been released from their positions within the organization and neither one of them will be working there in the future. The organization will begin a search for their replacements but my sources tell me that Ray Horton, the current Defensive Coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals will be given every opportunity to convince Bill Bidwill, the owner of the Arizona Cardinals and Mike Bidwill, the son of the owner of the Arizona Cardinals that he is the right man for the job as the Head Coach of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. I'm also hearing that Steve Keim, currently in a lesser position with the Arizona Cardinals will likely be promoted to replace Rod Graves, the former GM of the Arizona Cardinals. Again, major changes expected today or sometime in the next 3 months for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.

I don't follow him (or anyone) on twitter but when he gets his moment on ESPN he'll typically use 200 words to deliver a 10 word message. I can't imagine how he'd survive with the limited space of the twitter world.

What is a lateral promotion?

A fancy job with a shiny title but no more pay than you have currently. New role and responsibility, sometimes even more responisbility. But his job will sound big, won't be bigger than his current one and there is no raise.

Shifting deck chairs on the titanic.

Ah yes, sounds exactly like the breathless twit. Nothing we haven't heard already from Jurecki, but uttered as something entirely new to an unsuspecting national audience.

Says "Graves will be fired and feels that Whiz will be let go"

I would have thought they would have fired these guys immediately after the season. Why would you wait to fire someone you are going to fire? The only reason I can think of is you are waiting for the Superbowl to be over as people you may want are still playing football.

The only thing that might save Whiz is he has one more year on his contract which is big. These are still the Bidwills and if there is millions to be saved they might be the ones to do it.

They are meeting with Michael Bidwill today. It's common courtesy to at least meet with the coach/GM before letting them go. In Whis' case, he may get the option to accept changes and stay. It's not cut and dried like it was with Andy Reid, Pat Shurmur, Romeo Crennel and Chan Gailey.

I suspect we'll find out about Rod later today and Whis today or tomorrow. They want to move quickly to avoid losing Steve Keim and/or Ray Horton IMO.

You are a gentle man Gamebird. You should use the word "Fired" rather than "let go". I guess Whiz can use "let go" in his resume. With the QBs he had to work with would any HC have made enough difference to get you into the playoffs? Not really. If he had much to do with the trade for Kolb and some of our draft selections then that is reason enough to fire him or let him go. Those were judgement calls and bad judgement is a killer in the NFL.
