I think Cards practiced running the ball for the first time last week, it will get better, just think if we actually protected a top QB like say Carson Palmer with a run game, or say Kurt Warner - we would have a championship.

He has been running like a beast but I have noticed his second gear doesn't seem to kick in anymore. On several good running plays during his two great games it looked like he was going to break free only to be caught from behind.

Minor gripe though because the guys appears to still have great vision and tore it up twice now. I am anxious to see what he can do against top tier teams though consistently. This was the the 49ers.

Didn't we just see that in London? :-(

...dave

Possibly but that is my point. If he doesn't do this against the good teams there is really nothing to get excited about.

He definitely doesn't have second gear anymore but his first gear and power still make him and super solid RB and something teams have to pay attention to.

Glad you did it. I’d be invited to leave the country if I’d have posted your response.

Ya couldnt help but laugh. 3 games into a trade that had us winning 2 of three and getting annihilated in the loss is hardly the greatest trade of all time... To make that statement it would have to put us over the top for a Super Bowl in my opinion and that's clearly not happening...

He said one of not the. Plus he as we all do get fan happy at times especially during a game. Just think about your first part. The season and maybe next needs to play out but if we do anything this season getting AP will be why. It's clearly not one of the greatest trades of all time but I get getting excited over it to date. We get beat by an 0-8 team and gohard back in smack shack without him.

It was a little tongue-in-cheek sir. Just trolling those who so loudly disapproved of the trade.

Peterson in his prime was amazing and unheard of since Jim Brown, now he is just a great back but still better than good. Come on, he is more than solid because can you name another back who could have fared better so far currently playing on Sunday behind this OL. He is a once in a lifetime back and hopefully DJ will be the same and it looks he can (and you dang right it will be nice to have both guys next season to spell one another). What I see is a few people not accepting Peterson as a Cardinal for some obscure reason, like they want a reason not to like him... for me it's nice to have two guys, Peterson and Fitzgerald to have an interest in on Sunday when the playoffs are a pipe dream

I was meh and "wait and see" on the trade...and now we have seen.

we have seen that AP makes just enough difference to cost us our QBOF when draft day comes... but not enough difference to get us to a championship game. some may argue that Palmer going down has a bigger effect...maybe. but if Palmer was still under center BA wouldnt be giving AP 30+ carries either
either way I aint trippin on the pick...at least there is something semi-exciting about Cardinal football this season.
what would be nice..is to see AP still play like this next season,...with DJ next to him, and a top 5 rookie QB taking the snaps... DJ and AP together would really help a young QB learn the pro game without getting killed.

Funny how I had to go to page 6 to find this thread. That's what happens when he does no better than Chris Johnson. He's had 2 monster games against bad running defenses take out the TB and SF game and here are his numbers:

46 carries for 76 yards for a 1.6 YPC average. Even against Seattle where BA kept on pulling a Dennis Green with Edge vs Chicago by constantly giving him the ball even though he kept on running into a brick wall, he got 21 carries so he got his carries. In short, he's been a huge non-factor. I'm not saying this is 100% his fault because our offensive line stinks but it is the same offensive line that blocked for him in his 2 big games. So there's no gloating when he does badly or eating crow when he does well. This team is just not good enough for him to be a factor.
