Parity is the reason the NFL is king.

Parity by definition means everyone sucks. Free agency means no one can ever develop a dominant cohesive unit. That makes things sub par for everyone.Parity is for losers and 4th place trophies. Parity weakens,it doesnt strengthen.
the nfl was king before any free agency/parity. even the parity is a joke. Its the same 10 teams that still make the playoffs over and over again for 50 years. All parity did was make the teams that suck..continue to still suck but they dont look as bad getting a couple more wins then they use to but still below the teams that always make the playoffs.

Any team can win any Sunday, that's what matters

until the sundays that matter. then its the same teams in the playoffs over and over and over.
look at the team you root for. Havent done crap since 1947, till SB 43.
apparently the Cardinals forgot their -any-team- membership card.

It's a comparison to the other league

You know there's more than one other league, right. The NBA is the exception to the rule and has only been that way last year and this year. Hockey isn't like that and neither is baseball.

Haha. The reverse, or vomiting eaten crow, thread? Won’t be from me. Single success or failure isn’t enough to prove anything.

I said I am not a believer until they prove TB was not a fluke... I even stocked up on crow just in case they prove it was not a fluke, however, if they poop their pants, I have found I am kind of fond of cow (with a little hot sauce) ... waste not, want not

Parity by definition is that the rules established allow every team to have opportunity. We have still had dynasties in the salary cap era. This is nonsense.

Our lack of success isn't because of salary cap rules, for a long time it was management. We didn't become a real football team until Michael took over

Baseball often was the highest payroll = best odds.

I have no words for hockey, I don't watch it or have any interest in it

Lots of teams have high payrolls but that never meant the sport consistently came down to 2 teams like the NBA the last two seasons.

I never said it had anything to do with a salary cap. I'm simply saying the any team any sunday is a fictional story book slogan thats not true...redundant lol

The hard cap creates parity. NBA would be a lot more fun to watch with a hard cap.

Another analogy, using Emmitt Smith in comparison. Different person, different running style, different circumstances regarding his life, different team and coach and older. There are some players you cannot classify. Everyone is always so hell bent towards name association, as if it proves a point when it actually says nothing. You have a guy like Peterson, and how many times does this guy have to make everyone look completely moronic after saying what he cannot do. There is only one back in my observation which remotely compares to Peterson and that is Jim Brown, and I would not have doubted that guy either. I think instead of an analogy, we should be using metaphors because you cannot get a bead on him after what he has accomplished because his feats are not logical and under any other player you may very well be right. Peterson is like freaking Hurricane Harvey, he just keeps coming back, not as strong but still can do a lot of damage to you... and Thomas Jones and his 'decent' career to finish your point holds no merit which should be obvious, reaching for a telephone is not Peterson's kryptonite
You were saying?

Yeah I unnecessarily stuffed myself on prebaked crow. At least today I found myself vomiting it up.

Nothing about Peterson falling back to earth with no room to run makes me happy, but maybe next time, posters on the board use a little caution before telling people they should ban themselves from the board for being wrong.

Pretty sure the "darksiders" never said that kind of crap or questioned Kool-Aiders fandom. We might think y'all are looney tunes from time to time (Arent we all) but we never stoop to the ugly levels of calling for posters heads for being wrong.

That was super ugly and uncalled for last week.

Crow chili Monday (and Tuesday and Wednesday, I made a big batch), crow burgers Thursday, crow Sushi Saturday (mmmmm!!) AND I bought a bunch extra for next week because I won't believe it is anything but a blip until I see it again.

Lest we forget
the Bears beat the Ravens
the Giants beat the Broncos
the Jets almost nabbed the Cheatriots and
the 9ers almost took the Redskins

so, 1 game does not a believer make (although I do have all that extra crow on order, if necessary)

I spit out ALL the crow feathers... you idiots who thought AP (maybe he is AD, but not with this pathetic excuse for an o-line) was the second coming... eat the feathers I am spitting out... nothing is going to go right with this team until they ditch BA ... the QB Whisperer... what a ****** joke.. and all his hangers on... if I hear one more person say 'you can't fire him early in the season' I will puke ... the Suns just fired their coach after 3 games ... THREE EFFN GAMES... I don't care if their mgmt is screwed, I don't care if someone above doesn't get it ... we all get it with this team.,.. the only answer is fire the whole coaching staff ... good god, hire some High School coaches to replace them .. IT CANNOT BE ANY WORSE...

and also. everyone sucking on Adrian's jockstrap and talking about CJ2K just not having it anymore, owes the man an apology ... of course you can pull a 'general' Kelly and ignore that you were wrong, but he deserves more credit than he ever got in this godforsaken cesspool that we call a team... the freakin TV announcer at one point said, he could not think of a single HB that could succeed with that crap we were watching ... but yeah ... you idiots, CJ lost a step. adrian is a monster. get rid of CJ and everything is fine... oh, and anything wrong is Bethelws fault (whether he is on the field or not) ..

You have to feed a back like AP. If it's not a 20+ carry game it doesn't count.

AP ran like a man on mission today and with heart, running over guys. We don't win this game without him. If the Oline blocked better who knows how many more he could have had.

37 carries 159 yards.

I am a big fan of the trade and support AP and though he had a great game, this OL has no excuse for not opening more holes... hence Veldheer on the right
