I read where Cards would be a good fit for Peterson. Anyone have any thoughts on if we should take that as a serious possiblity. And would he be a good fit here?

The cards just let go of an aging player. I cannot see them bringing on another unless it is like some of the one year prove it type contract like they have done in the past.

Dallas would be a much better fit with the OL they have. The cards will have to make some serious upgrades in the interior of the OL to get the run game at a respectable level for any RB.

Who knows how many OLmen we have drafted over the last 2-3 yrs? It is odd that we still don't have a decent OL to produce a running game. I see teams each year that seem to draft a couple high players at OL and immediate become a force to be reckoned with. What is our problem in this area? Is it the lack of judgement? Poor evaluation of players? Or just the old faithful excuse: Card's bad luck?

We do have a good line. Ellington is overrated to begin with and was hurt all year. When Palmer went out and we couldn't scare teams with the pass, they stacked the run. Williams still ran his little tail off and really impressed me to be honest. We def have things/personnel we can improve on but the line was decent IMO.

I think Ellington is a great playmaker at RB and slot WR. I don't think he's a very good every down back though. If we can add AP and let him split time with Ellington, we'd really up our running game next season.

How is this guys... Ellington is not overrated for what he is, a x factor playmaker who provides a excellent change of pace from the running back position and added versatility as a WR :)

This team provides a good balance to AP. He won't be overused here. 15 or so touches per game, he can easily produce 1000 yard seasons behind our line, and he will probably win superbowls.

For those worried about his age, let me remind you he nearly broke the single season rushing record after returning from ACL reconstruction. The recovery time in of itself was nearly a record. He also sat out last year.

Dude is easily worth a 4 year deal. Some of you guys need to let go of your binkies, blankets, and teddy bears, and grow out of mediocricy. AP could provide value to this team

Ellington did not have a good year. BA says he had a foot injury where he could hardly practice during the week that had a significant impact on his performance. Eventually he went on the IR for the season with a hip injury.
I like Ellington and feel teamed up with a big back (for short yardage and goal line carries), the Cards can have an excellent backfield.

Totally agree. Let's put all our faith in a guy with one good rookie season. It's totally ridic in my opinion.

He's a threat, but shouldn't be the focal point of the offense. Even BA said that was a mistake.

The way people on here talk about him makes me think they don't know football.

Highly doubt AP will even be leaving the Vikings. So all this talk about AP possibly wearing red, or even silver or blue, I doubt will happen. I wish it would, but they won't let him go.

He wasn't overrated, just over played.

You don't think he's over-rated on this board? I disagree. People here slobber over him and he's not all that.

Hell, even in regards to AP, people talk about how HE can compliment Ellington, that in itself is hilarious.

I think he was mostly just under-healthy. Fans tend to overrate their own (when they're not eating them alive) so yeah, maybe we overrated him. We saw the good things he was able to do and projected them forward but a foot and hip injury kept him from living up to our projections. So, we rated him higher than he actually performed which makes him overrated but the guy still has loads of potential. Healthy, we'll get a chance to see it and if not he'll probably end up on the Beanie pile.

Wells was way more productive even while hurt than Ellington and would have fit in this offense better. Too bad Whiz destroyed him in the preseason.

Ellington is the epitome of a coach killer. One good year and hurt, with flashes of brilliance. Everyone just goes gaga over his one huge run his rookie year. He's not Jamaal Charles, BA never should have made the comparison.

And coach made him the focal point last year over a dude like Larry? That's laughable.

I think Ellington is good. I don't think he is a top 5 or 10 RB in this league. But he does bring big play ability and he is perfect for a rotational player at both RB and some slot receiver. I want to add a number one RB like AP, Melvin Gordon, or David Johnson. Upgrade the interior or the oline and focus on the D.

I'll take box number 3, I really like Johnson and think he'd pair well with Ellington.

How about we get the next Adrian Peterson (whoever that is). You know what will happen if he comes here, his career will go downhill, and we will be reminded of the 8 yrs of his prime we missed for reaching for an OL.
