paraphrased, two very interesting points...

  • Green's our coach, "hell yeah" we want him back
  • Why did we start slow this year? It's a long process, it's slow. We're young, we're getting better.

He's just being a good soldier. What do you expect, for him to say on TV in the middle of the season "Yeah, fire this jackass!"?

I'd trust him more than I'd trust a Bidwill.

Not me. He makes some pretty bonheaded decisions himself. Like punching Burleson after the TD in plain view.

Well the interesting thing to me is that the team obviously quit on Green during the Raiders and Green Bay game, now they seem to be playing which to me means that somehow they got word to the players that Green is gone no matter what.

It really is the only thing that makes sense, players don't quit on a coach then suddenly develop a desire to play hard again.

It's just my opinon but to me there were no clearer examples of quiting on a coach than the Raiders and the Green Bay game.

I know this is sooooo far fetched but what if this is an example of one of the few times the Cards should have stayed with a HC? The Cards are not known for continuity in the HC job and many have surmised that that could be a big part of the problem. I dunno. Just thinking out loud.

Think about this. Why did it take this staff an entire off season, training camp, and 8 games of the regular season to settle on the 5 offensive linemen currently starting? It wasn't injuries. Lechy has been on the team as long as Step. We all saw it but the staff didn't.
In the NFL every game and every decision is precious. Bottom line is this staff has cost this team at LEAST 3 games.
I don't know what will happen but every win adds to the intrigue of the off season as the last seconds tick off of the last game.

It's not far fetched at all, to me at this point it's a legitimately hard question to answer.

I think you could make a good case either way, I never liked Green as a coach, I always thought he was a bad in game coach, not a real outhinking the other guy type but again this management team could do worse, they've proven that.

Amazing isn't it?

I mean this lineup isn't that far off what some on here kept screaming for, I always thought Wells should be a RT or Center.

Lutui I was arguing should start.

Moving Brown to the Left side was a good idea I didn't hear a lot on here saying so I'll credit the O line coach with that but still, Step started way way too long.

I questioned his move to RG from the start because his success with the Texans had been at LG.

That makes sense, I never followed him that close to know the difference, to me the fact he and Lutui both can run block, along with Lecky being athletic enough to pull combined with Wells being at his natural position have helped this whole thing gel.

I'd say right now this line is good enough, it's not great but it gets the job done, let's hope they franchise Big and keep it together for a while, while also drafting and trying to sign some more depth to be sure.

I like Wilson a lot, he's a warrior and he's a loyal teamate.

He's a leader and he's right, I think we all expected better coaching to grow them up sooner but I'd agree with what he said.

The closest situation I can think of is Bugel's last season. We disapppointed early, but finished strong at 7-9. Bidwill canned him anyhow because he made a silly 8-8 ultimatum.

Mike Bidwill, on a preseason show, when asked about what record would get Green back if they didn't make playoffs specifically brought up that situation and said that was a mistake that would NOT be repeated.

I wouldn't have bet a penny on Green's chances two weeks ago, but I think it's at LEAST 50/50 he'd be back if the season ended today.

That's some good information.

I think if Green wants to keep his job he should win out and then make it as hard as possible on the team to can him.

He's never turned on the team or the management, that's more than I could have ever expected from my standpoint at least and as much as I don't care for him, if he wins out I want him back for no other reason than I'd like to keep the Oline coach, the OC and give Pendy one more chance to play a more traditional defense that takes chances less and plays again a more traditional type of scheme while mixing in some really creative things I think he does do.

I think Clancy needs one more year, a few more players and some more maturity to stop playing mad scientist a bit and line up and beat people more often than he has, having said that if he does what I say and still throws out some of that oddball stuff in more of a suprise fashion I think he could be very good as a DC.

He is running some of the most vanilla defenses I have ever seen.

Clancy was a breath of fresh air when he came in. He's done well considering the overall lack of talent on defense but I think he's gotten carried away with his schemes this year. IMO he took a step backwards and if he settles down like you said then he'll be fine.

I'm with you on wanting to keep Kruczek and Loney.

It doesn't help the defense without Berry in there. We are weak up front anyway. I thought our pass rush was fairly effective today considering the personnel we have

Did you happen to notice how Okeafor schooled Walter Jones on the big sack towards the end of the game?

Yes, I did. Clinched the game. I was also struck by whatever "color guy announcer of the week" kept mangling his name pronunciation

This year he has yes but some of the blowout losses in previous years came from blitzing incessantly when it wasn't working, he did that repeatedly.

Don't get me wrong at times his defenses are maddening in their inablity to stop the run specifically and sometimes it's the pass but overall I like the way he thinks, I think he has good ideas and if you give him a few more horses he'll make other teams miserable, hopefully without getting carried away is all I'm saying.
