props he gets... a starting position on our team with a huge salary he shouldn't. and no one still considers him one of the best safeties to play this game right now. that guy is in the past and if we continue to live in it, we'll be stuck there... just like Wiz is stuck with Porter/Haggans.

you said people STILL consider him one of the best in the game. that implies he's STILL playing at that level and people think of him that way... which is just incredibly far from the truth. But even if people considered his career great (which I do), that has no bearing on how he's playing NOW. And NOW he's not good.

what he did in the past is great to think about but it has NOTHING to do with the present. The guy has lost it. it sucks. He was one of my favorite players. sadly, there's nothing behind him, so he keeps playing... but none of that changes the fact that he's had a HOF CAREER but he's been awful this season. He (amongst others) IS losing us games... there's sadly just nothing we can do about it.

Amazing what can happen to perception is just six weeks...

More revealing was his comment about that play when it came to being a leader on the defense. “It hurt me emotionally the way that I was playing,” Wilson said. “I knew I wasn’t that type of player, and I knew what I was doing in games early on in the year, that wasn’t me. It hurt me inside, and I wanted to show my teammates I was still that guy, that guy they could depend on, still that playmaker. That fueled me as the season went on.”

It looks like the above does support what fans were saying as far as Adub was stinkng it up early in the season. He also had a tough 2010 season but we all learned about the injury he played with so my hope was he just needed time to get back to being Adub.

I didn't see a decline in his physical abilities so I wasn't one to think he couldn't get it done anymore but obviously he wasn't playing well for quite some time.

Wilson's totally stunned me with his 180 turnaround, not just from last season... but from earlier THIS season.

Guy has been an absolute stud the last 7 games and gives me hope again for next year that with a full year under his belt in the system and hopefully healthy, he can continue to be a difference maker on D.
I agree. I started thread in about week 3 or 4 saying he needs to go and is killing the defense. It's a credit to both AW and Horton for the turn around.

Count me in on that group.

I thought Wilson was done about 1 1/2 years ago, and I cannot believe how well he has been playing as of late.

I am ashamed to say it, but it is the truth. Good for Wilson for shutting me up and proving me wrong.

But, in Cheesey's and mine's defense, even Wilson says he was terrible/horrible at the beginning of this year.

What can I say, I am a pessimist at heart, and this organizations track record would dictate a full collapse of everything good was bound for us this season. Thinking this team would go 2-14 was not crazy when they were losing to some very poor teams earlier this season, and couldn't complete a forward pass, or stop anyone on defense.

We will see. I would like to see this team win 2 out of the next 3. They SHOULD (knock on wood) beat the Browns and Seahawks.

.500 for the year would be great, and with the way the team is playing, especially the defense, it gives a good feeling toward next season.

.........yet the pessimist in me says, "Yeah, well that is normal for this organization to give hope at the end of one season, and suck balls the next."

So........ WE WILL SEE. Not ready to pull the "Same ol' Cardinals" out or my signature yet.

I will do it if they win this weekend, AND I will update the current roster.

Well, I'm an optimist at heart and I was positive that Wilson was finished. I'm still not completely convinced that the new Adrian isn't a mirage but this is his best 5 game stretch since 2008 IMO. Hope he keeps it up because you have to love a guy who wants to play for the Cards.
