hi all I am hoping to get some advice. I am visiting Pheonix from England in October and am attending my first cardinals game against the 49er’s. When I got the ticket the advice is I should arrive about 2-3 hours before kick off.
Is this good advice as it seems really early to arrive at a game. Is their much to do at the ground before kickoff.

Yes, avoid the traffic jams and get there early. There is always great tail-gating on the Great Lawn. Even inside the gates, there are food vendors and a sit down area with large TV screens to watch other games.

Enjoy!

First of all, never say it is a "match" out loud ever again. Trust me.

Second, yes, there is plenty to do, plenty to drink, and you will have a blast.

You don't need to get there 2-3 hours early, but there is plenty to do around the stadium if you do.

Keep calling it a match. You be you. Given some of the outrageous, ridiculous or just plain goofy things that are said in this forum, calling a game "match" since you are from England shouldn't matter one damn bit.

Don't conform.

Conform, conform, conform!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks all for the advice. Apologies everything is a match in England. By the sounds of it I’ll be mad to miss out on the tail gating before hand.

Here in the southwest... you say 'plumb loco' not crazy...:D

Get a map from posters of where they'll be tailgating and they may not have your bangers and mash but I'm sure you'll be greeted with a hot dog and a cold beverage

Are you a member of the birdgang uk? There are actually 2 twitter accounts. If not, are you a 49'ers fan? ;)

For a truly memorable experience:

1. Get there ~ two hours early.
2. Head to the great lawn.
3. Be friendly.
4. Let folks know you came in from England for this game.

You will be well taken care of, and possibly get to enjoy the only home win this year.

I'm over due for a home-game myself. This is my usual routine and I'm always humbled by the way I'm treated, flying in from Virginia.... being from England, I expect you'll be treated as royalty.

Go Cards!!

Try to sit near Center court. Don’t use “bloody” unless you actually see some blood.
