1) From what I understand, he's barely in it

2) It's directed by M. Night Shyamalan

So I won't be seeing it in the theaters.

Sixth Sense = Freaking awesome
Unbreakable = Pretty good
Signs = Decent and watchable
Village, Lady in the Water and The Happening = Incredibly lame!

Im not up on directors and don't select movies based on them.. I base my movies on plot and actors.. Outside of Wild Wild West Will Smith has never disappointed me..

Even 'Six Degrees of Separation'? I would not have thought that type of movie was up your alley.

You forgot "The Last Airbender".

:barf:

I didn't realize that he did "After Earth" which now makes me unsure whether I will see it in the theater. I guess I'll wait for some reviews to come in before deciding to go see it or not.

It's not being screened for critics, which traditionally means that the studio does not want advanced reviews out to dissuade moviegoers to check it out opening weekend. Bad sign.

thats a shame as the writer and director have more influence on most things vs the actors.

Oliver Stone, Tarentino, Kevin Smith and Clive barker are four of my favorites.

this is also being marketed as a father-son adventure, when in reality, I think Will Smith spends most of his time on the ship recuperating from injury and Jaden is the true star of the movie...which makes me not really want to see this at all.

well it's getting killed by critics. I guess I'll wait for it to be on HBO in a few months.

And I'll wait a month or two later for it to be on SyFy channel. Actually, I might just watch the mockbuster that will surely air any day now. I think this might be one of those rare occasions when the low budget copy equals or exceeds the original.

Best way to get into acting have your parents be big stars. I think this looks like the best movie out now though.
