- By my count and it could be wrong but in the Stanford-UA game, about 8 fouls were called in the first half and about 30 were whistled in the second. I don't blame refs and never expect them to be perfect, but can we get some consistency? That's all coaches, players, and fans ask. If you're going to let them play, let them play. If you're going to call it tight, call it tight. Maybe the Pac-10 will figure this out at some point in my lifetime.

- Jordan Hill and Jeff Pendergraph have the combined hoops IQ of Jeff's jersey number. How two players who are so vital to their team's chances of winning always end up in foul trouble is beyond me. And it's always the really dumb fouls too that cost these guys.

- Jerryd played one on five for the first 35 tonight again until Budinger woke up. Sorry, but the kid's not going to come back and play with a bunch of either non-talented or mentally weak guys for another year when Kerr in all likelihood is going to promise to pick him if he's there. Pray Jennings has something up his sleeve that convinces Jerryd to come back.

- Ryan Anderson for the post-Bibby Hawks pick. Dude's a perfect fit on the Suns. Can run and shoot plus he can fill two needs in play in the post and rebounding.

- Why ASU will never be a serious threat in hoops in the Pac-10? #1 player in the country in town, team coming off two wins against rival and top 10 (although there's at least 15 teams better than Stanford across the NCAA), most talented team in over a decade, NCAA Tournament in reach and 5,000 if not more empty seats. Good work Sun Devils, from PLO to Bobbi Olson to the soda off Cowgill's dome you continually prove you are the worst basketball fans in the conference.

- Ty Abbott. So are you good or do you suck? There really is not middle ground with this kid. One week one of the better players in the conference and the next he's one of the worst.

- Arizona has the worst bench in the Pac-10. Okay, maybe Oregon State is worse. Fendi, Dillon, Walters, and Tangara are downright awful despite years of quality coaching. Zane Johnson and Alex Jacobsen will never be even serviceable players in this conference. If only you could revoke scholarships. KO or Lute or whoever it is needs to hit the recruiting trail hard this summer and hope for a couple transfers.

- Jamelle McMillan is nowhere close to the player Derek Glasser is and Glasser's just okay. He might get some starts his senior year but I imagine Herb will bring in somebody better in the meantime. Very overhyped recruit.

- Is there any coach in the conference that does less with more than Ben Braun? No way this team belongs in the NIT which is where they will end up. If you have the Pac-10 POY and can't get into the Tourney then there is a problem, see Rob Evans. The weird thing is he'll probably be back another year as Cal is financially strapped after retaining Tedford and building all the facilities to keep him in Berkeley.

- Stanford has no backcourt and will lose on the first weekend of the Tournament. So will every other team in the conference not named UCLA that gets in. Get ready for the Pac-10 sucks bandwagon to fill back up.

Bayless HAS to be Pac-10 Freshman of the year, right? With a strong finish he could concievably Pac-10 POY!

He's #2 in the conference in scoring. Your right - Jennings is going to have to do something extraordinary to convince Bayless the smart play is having a good sophmore year and being a top 3 pick.

I don't even know if i can honestly give that same advice.

Hopefully if Lute and Hill, Bayless, and Budinger come back that could be the best Cats team in a LONG time. If a guy as talented as Budinger is the THIRD option on your team you should be a final four automatic.

My question is why is Arizona not going after true post players? Our backcourt & wings are not the problem, they need a low post threat, Hill is too inconsistent and cannot do it alone. What is the status on Dan Jennings? He is suppose to be highly interested in U of A but why haven't O'Neill an Co signed this kid? Other people we should be offering to are: PF/C Daniel Orton, C Anthony Stover, PF/C Greg Smith, PF Renardo Sidney, PF Jeremy Tyler. All these guys our in our neck of the woods, but Arizona is not making a serious run at these guys.

Jeremy Tyler and Renardo Sidney's college decisions are not going to be about basketball and the final decision will not be made by either of those two kids so I doubt Arizona ends up being involved with either of them. The issue Arizona has right now in recruiting is that they're a coach short (some might argue with Miles Simon we're down two coaches) which makes getting time for player evaluation difficult.

KO can recruit, he had a big hand in recruiting the top 5 2008 class. I'm sure once things gets settled this spring we'll see the 2009 guys start to fall into place. And having the second best PG in the class already in the bag makes things a bit easier. Just don't expect KO to go after the 7 foot finesse project posts that Lute loved so much. He'll want physical players that can at least rebound a D up right away.

We are already targeting and are in on some very good east coast players, including a few from KO's stomping grounds in NY.
