NFL | Ah You does limited work at Pro Day
Tue, 17 Apr 2007 01:50:53 -0700

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Oklahoma DE C.J. Ah You measured a height of 6-foot-3 1/2 and a weight of 270 pounds at his Pro Day. He ran the short shuttle in 4.31 seconds and measured a 9-foot-7 broad jump. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Combine.

What a name. The only thing better would have been Hey You.:D

Which would be correct, Ah You are our draft pick or Ah You is our draft pick?

Both I guess depending on the situation.

Many of us old timers in Arizona are very familiar with the Ah You name. Junior Ah You (C.J. Ah You's uncle) was a star football player for Arizona State University. One of the best players in ASU football history.

I remember a better one and I'm sure Duckjake does too. Texas once had a very good field goal kicker whose real name was Happy Feller.

I liked C.J. Ah You because his size to speed, strength and athletic ability is as good as or equal to any defensive end in the draft. Of what I have read, he dosn't always utilize his abilities and does not play with any consistancy. Could be a sleeper if he would play up to his potential.

He went to Oklahoma, so his name would have been perfect if it was Oh You.

Ah You's hero is the Arizona punter with one bar on his facemask. "I don't know his real name," You said. "They only list him as Player. I like that he's selfless and not out for personal glory; he sees himself only as one player on the team."

Junior Ah You was a star defensive end with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL in the 70's and was on a Grey Cup winning team in 1977. Nice guy... was very popular up here.
