Yep, they leave after the game. Plan for takeoff no earlier than about three hours after the game. A little over an hour flight back to Phoenix and you're looking at around 2 AM.

Saints fans have been meeting the plane and lining the streets just about all season. I'd love to give our guys that boost of seeing fans welcoming them home.

This isn't the next day, these guys are gonna be tired, sore and ready for bed. If I were them I wouldn't want a loud reception upon arriving back at the airport in the middle of the night. I'd think "I hope none of these stalkers follows me home." It would be much cooler to be at the airport when they were flying out. JMHO

Wish I had a link to Jim Rome's take on airport welcomes. It was hilarious.
The jist of it was the only reason you ever go to the airport is if:
a) You are flying somewhere
b) You are landing somewhere
c) You are dropping someone off
d) You are picking someone up
e) You keep the place secure (OK he didn't really say "e" but that was for a regular here)
Otherwise you need to get a life.
Now if the Cards come back from Tampa with a win, all of the above gets thrown out.

I work at Sky Harbor, maybe I can tell the FAA Rome said I shouldn't show up and take a couple days off

I totally disagree, the team would be thrilled to see a boat load of fans there. As far as the stalkers, they would have to drive to Tempe to follow them home, because they take a bus from the airport from the training facility.
Ya a bunch of rich young men with the day off tomorrow and there ready for bed. KW ready for bed, DD ready to party if we just clinched the division title.
