I think its funny that we are discussing Levi Brown being a bust in the same thread where we're all gushing that Branch is finally not the bust we all thought he was. :)

JTS

"Trunk" never really got to play. Only 4 games last year.

We've seen "Stand Around" stand around plenty of times on TV.

But then Levi used to be a DT so maybe he gets confused sometimes and thinks HE is the one who is supposed to rush the passer.

The point always missing in the "Brown instead of Peterson" argument is at the time of the draft there were major questions/doubts about Adrian Peterson coming from all the experts.

I'm just sayin'...

Major questions/doubts? You're kidding right? Teams were scared about his injuries, but that's it. None of his injuries in college were ever that serious and until he decided to sit out the last half of his final season, he only missed one other game if I recall. It has been clear from the get go that he was the best RB that has come out of college for at least a decade maybe more.

No, I am not kidding. Of course it was mainly about his injuries; but not exclusively. I ran across something just this week (No, I can't give the source, because I can't freakin' remember where it was I came across it.) recanting how many NFL execs were leery about AP's immeasurables, ie. - running style, conditioning, etc.

Sure there were many persons that were high on AP, including those at ASFN, but at the time of the draft, AP was not a sure fire pick. It has been only hindsight and revisionism which make it seem to have been so obvious.

If you choose to slam Graves and the organization for missing on AP then at least put the fault where it belongs, releasing LD and making it mandatory that they secure a replacement OT in the draft. Had the Cardinals not selected Brown, bottom line: they still would have passed on AP and taken a different OL that would be getting slammed as much or worse than Levi Brown.

The draft wasn't screwed up because they selected Brown, it was screwed up because they released a starting OL, FOR NOTHING, without any viable replacement, period.

Only if he wore #75 and got called for at least one false start every game.
