Sorry if this has already been posted:

Given what they had to go through to get Rasheed Wallace, you figure the Pistons will gladly pay the $200,000 fine levied by the league for playing him before last week's trade went through. Detroit first thought it had Wallace three weeks ago, when it had verbally agreed to a three-way deal with the Blazers and Phoenix. Wallace was to go straight to Detroit from Portland, with Bob Sura and Zeljko Rebraca going to the Suns and another Piston going to the Blazers. Jahidi White would have been routed to Portland as well, and Paul Allen would have gotten $1.5 million each from Detroit and Phoenix. But at the last minute, Allen changed his mind. So the Pistons had to watch while Wallace went to Atlanta. And even last week's trade almost fell through on Thursday when Boston nearly pulled out of the three-way with Detroit and Atlanta. The Celtics, already jittery about Chucky Atkins' knee, became alarmed when doctors found an undetected lump. A biopsy was negative, however, and when Atkins passed his physical, Boston was back on board. ...

I have no clue where this rumor came from, but the math is pretty screwy:

Wallace makes $16.9 million

Rebraca makes $4.2 million
Sura makes $6.2 million

White makes $5.4 million

The only way this deal fits the Suns cap is if it happened after the Googs deal went down. Saying that Allen of the Blazers killed it is just not reasonable.

The deal could have been:

Sura, Atkins, Hunter, White, MIL's pick via DET, DET's pick, CLE's pick to POR

Rebraca to PHO

Wallace to DET

That works, but it is not how the article described it.
