Everyone's going to say Lillard was snubbed, but who was he supposed to beat out?

I agree that the Wade choice is weird. I probably would have gone with Lowry.

Durant? Dude's only played 21 games so far this year and with Blake, Davis, Gasol, Duncan and Aldridge, the team has more then enough forwards.

Korver and Milwaukee's Brandon Knight are expected to be the two strongest candidates to replace Wade for the East.
I'd like to see Brandon Knight get the nod to take Dwayne Wade's place.

Wow I just realized there's no Nowitzki on the roster. I don't actually think he deserves it over anyone going, but I still find it a bit surprising.

I agree but if Dirk were a local boy (or if he'd once been a teammate of Yao Ming), he'd still be in the all star game. They really need to make some huge changes. They need to completely dump the stupid "fan vote" aspect of this event or they should change the name to the Celebrity game.

The players deserve deserve some kind of recognition such as this but how you performed on the court has become such a small aspect of making the all star team in today's NBA (and for awhile now). There's just no excuse for someone like Kobe making the team (or Durant etc.). Players like Kobe (if he were healthy) should be invited to the "I used to be good" game but that's it.

Cousins not on the all-star team. Wow. Probably he best center in all of basketball at the moment and he is not on the team.

That may be the worst snub ever.

I don't think he's playing as well as he did last season, I've seen him mail it in on defense too many times this season. He dominates on offense so he's still among the best but unlike last season I wouldn't put him in the argument for top center. When you consider that he's not well liked by fans or coaches and that he missed more than a quarter of his team's games (by close of balloting), this isn't a shock. He clearly deserves to be there over Durant and maybe even Duncan but they are both former MVP's, one is coming off a championship season and the other is considered the second best player in the game. AFAIC, it's just a very minor snub of no more note than the Portland guard or Goran last year.

Won't Aldridge miss the game also? I know he was projected to be out 6-8 weeks about 1 maybe 2 weeks ago. Replacing him with Lillard makes sense, both Blazers, and DeMarcus taking Kobe's spot adding another big meaning they could a guard to replace a front court player.

Aldridge has decided to put off his thumb surgery. Apparently there's no risk to the thumb other than a longer rehab period if surgery is delayed. If he can play through the pain he's decided to do it so for awhile at least.

I guess the Suns will have no representation no matter how minor.

I think IT is in the Skills competition.

Steve

I knew the moment I wrote it something would change. ;)

I just went to visit Paul Coro on twitter and there it was:

Paul Coro @paulcoro · 20m 20 minutes ago

Isaiah Thomas will make his first Skills Challenge appearance. In an eight-man bracket format, Thomas will open against John Wall. #Suns

Unfortunately the skills challenge stands out as incredibly lame in an already overall lame allstar weekend..

Watching the Skills competition, and it was so ironic that the part that IT struggled with the most was the passing.

Beverly won the whole thing, it's a little hard to say he's the worst in the competition. I'd take him over Schroeder or Trey Burke. He's a defensive PG, Harden handles the offense in Houston.

Yea that was surprising, even the ITN guys were surprised afterwards.

Funny to see IT struggle with that pass though.

I'd kill to have any one of the 3pt shooting contests on our team.

This dunk contest is pretty bad outside of Lavine, who is putting on a one man show.
