Owens is an ass. According to ESPN the Eagles would have worked a new deal but except for the way Owens was acting. Boldin is not Owens. You dont treat an ass and a good guy the same way.

Too criticize the holdout is one thing. To denigrate his play as a tool to criticize his holdout just makes the person making that claim look foolish particularly if that person had been praising him just a year earlier.

Renegotiated contracts are a way of life. Well run teams do it and poorly run teams that wont will drive away the good players. I am glad you folks who dont believe in renegotiation based on principle alone dont run the Cards. If you did run the Cards would be known as bad place for players considering the other teams renegotiate contracts. It would put the Cards at a major disadvantage in getting talent.

Why dont you go face to face with Boldin and question his manliness?

You make a good point. Being proactive is something the Cards have never been known for until recently and it's something that has always sent our FA's packing and scared other teams FA's away from us.

I really think this whole thing would never have gotten as ugly if he didn't have DR for his agent.
Even if he held out, if he had a different agent, I think there wouldn't be so much hostility.

I like the way the Eagles are dealing with T.O. They told him they were not going to redo his 6 year contract period!!!! The Eagles announced it publically. McNabb publically said they could win with T.O or win without him. Rosenhaus made a big mistake on this one with T.O. He has more of a case with Boldin only having two years on his contract by Boldin has only one good year behind him and knee problems and he is no T.O. at this point so I do not redo his contract. I see how he performs this year and give him a new one next year if he proves he is the real deal.

I disagree that TO has more of a case. TO had already been established as an elite reciever when he signed a contract last year. The contract is for a top-tier reciever, and TO should honor the contract. Boldin's contract is for a second rounder. I understand the problems that come with Boldin and his history of injuries, but he is not making a salary that coincides with his production. I am not saying that Boldin deserves a new contract, but he had a bigger gripe than TO in my opinion.

How many of these guys have lesser value than Boldin?

Bruce (age is only reason)
J. Smith (age is factor)
R. Smith "
J. Morton
M. Booker
P. Warrick
R. Gardner
P. Price
A. Toomer
M. Robinson
E. Kennison

When you look at this list, Boldin kind of makes a good argument.

exactly. His stats were par with or even slightly off what they were 2-3 years ago.

"..And in this corner.."

WOW! thank you for all your reactions to the post, gentlemen.. I believe 100% that Boldin will stay and participate throughout the summer, and that come September, the rest of the NFL better watch out for our Cards!! I'm so hardheaded in my belief that he listened to the bad advice given him by Rosensuck, missed the three day minicamp, probably watched it on NFL Network[a big shout out to them for keying on the Cards], then decided,"I pay you, Rosensuck, This holding out doesn't feel right to me letting down my teammates", so he told DR I am coming to the rest of camp and not holding out at all anymore.. get up off your lazy ass and get my deal done!
More power to you Q!! Shows up the other receivers sitting on their hands trusting DR... Thanks for all your posts back, men!!
  Go CARDS!!!

Like he said, those are BASE salaries. I guarantee Marvin Harrison made waaaay more than Eddie Kennison or Amani Toomer when the bonuses are added in.
