Fitz looked rusty, Anderson was terrible in the 3rd quarter, the Rams were getting all sorts of late hits on DA that werent' called, looked like a very possible loss.

Breaston's play chasing down the DL after the fumble saved the game, what a terrific play!

Breaston was also huge catching the ball and to his credit DA stood in there and made some big throws to Breaston when he had to.

I liked Toler a lot, Washington looked good.

I don't get why Komar was in more than Williams, does he know Doucet's position better or something, because he scares the hell out of me when he has the ball.

Now for the 2 I'm puzzled plays, I think they got the call wrong but for the love of Pete what will it take for Hightower to hang onto the ball? Even if the call was wrong, he has to be better than that. I hope Beanie gets healthy soon, right now Hyphen is the only RB I trust not to fumble.

And unless he cramped up, why in the hell did Rhodes pull up on the INT return and stop? It looked like he was one guy away from scoring, even the announcer thought so, and then he just stop like someone threw out an anchor. He looked tired but he stopped so suddenly I was afraid he pulled a hammy or something, but he looked fine. It was almost like he thought just pull up now and we'll run out the clock?

I'll take it.

I take back everything I've said about Bradford, I like him a LOT.

I figured he was just trying to get us into field goal range, then his job was done so he went down rather than risk fumbling.. so much good that did of course.

There a lot of defensive positives to take away from this game, but the offense scares the hell out of me.

But it's a division win and we're undefeated. Can't complain too much.

Agreed, another reason I wanted more Williams and less Komar, we had no speed other than Breaston out there. Luckily Stevie was enough.

I thought he lacked lift more than speed. He just wasn't getting up into the air very well.

Ah well. He's human, and I'm damn glad we won in spite of his struggles.

Yep AW was huge.

DRC gave up a couple late in the game but otherwise they avoided him like the plague and he came SO close to picking that throw late when he jumped the route. I like our new secondary a lot.

Agreed. Still ran a beautiful route on the TD pass. They should keep Fitz at a minimum of plays till he gets more time in with Anderson, and heals up.

And as for the thread, of course I will take a win.

I think we were going to lose, and everything was going how I thought it would,

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2302305&postcount=34

but our defense was just sick. We have NEVER played defense that well.

THere are fumbles I can live with, and those that make me nutty.

Both of Hightower's fumbles were inexcusable -- the last one in particular. He started the run with both hands on the ball, and went to a one arm carry as he goes into contact.

Beanie: get well soon.

Shane's avatar had a really good game too. The bomb was a hope and a prayer IMO.

Toler and DRC. While DRC is better in coverage, Toler is a better all around player, he tackles like a safety.

I agree on the Rhoads runback... Rolle would have had 6, but I'll take the win. I also thought Rhoads looked pretty good overall.

Hightower deserves a swift kick in the nuts from our defense after today.

But Beanie is not going to solve the fumbling problems.

LSH is our most reliable back right now.

And let's not forget the soon to be cut (at least I hope) Max Komar. I don't think you can suck as bad as Komar did.

Without the fumbles, this is not even a game. It could easily have been 31-10.

We are sooooo spoiled now....

I mean, I get it but how many years have we started 0-1. All the feel-good pre-season feelings dashed by an 0-1 start. UGH! A win is a win is a win. :D My up-coming week is a whole better now. THANK-YOU CARDINALS! :)

Its not uncommon for rookie backs to fumble more than expected --

that Hightower hasn't improved in his third year is real concern. Beanie at least has the potential to get better.

Well at least we're 1-0. Other than that you can't take away much on the positive side when you barely beat the worst team in the NFL which was starting a rookie QB.

It was a pitiful game with all the things we were concerned about happening.

There was a graphic were they showed that DA had thrown to Fitz 13 times and Larry only had 3 catches.

I have some real concerns about what our coaches are thinking but on the other hand thank God we don't have the Rams coaches. Those guys are clueless.

Hightower and our offensive line scare the hell out of me. DA and the wide receivers just look like they need reps as a unit. LSH looks good as well. He might be our best option at running back right now.

The late hits on Anderson are a problem. I bet Whiz sends a tape to the NFL> They called 1 on us and yet they hit Anderson 3 or 4 times late.

I think what WHiz likes about Anderson. Is his toughness...I mean he got drilled 5 or 6 times and still came back and had a decent game. I missed alot of throws which if Warner was playing we prob win 37-13...but as a whole he did have 297 yards and no INT's.

Breaston and AW, players of the game.

I agree wholeheartidly.
Great game by those 2. would not have won without them.

Game ball for LSH, I thought he did a real good job.

Penalty box for Anderson. mostly horrible game. 1 completion over 50 percent is not good enough.

Penalty box for Hightower although that last funble was a bum call.

Penalty box for the refereeing crew. Terrible game by them on my levels.

Komar needs to be in the dog house and have the door slammed on his tail.

Offensive line was horrid. Still in preseason form. They all act like they are playing running in wet concrete.

Agreed. I watched the Bear - Lions game today.....and wow, just wow.

There is not much good to say about either team.

You know I get the rule, but think that it is pretty stupid. Despite that, how about bringing back the concept of holding onto a football.
